Longtime lurker, first time poster!

Hi all!

My name is Kay and this is me... trying to write. I'm hoping actually having an audience of some kind (even if it's just the void where I dump my posts) motivates me to produce writing of some kind. This isn't my first time on tumblr, but it is my first time on here in years, so there are a whole bunch of new features I'm about to attempt to figure out. TIA for your patience and the lack of perception of my struggles, lol.

I've been working on a novel for almost the last two years and have sort of stagnated for almost six months of that time. Maybe pivoting back to my first love, fanfic, will shake off some of that dust. If nothing else, it'll be fun!

I have yet to post on ao3 (I haven't written since my Dark Days on ffn), but I've had an account and have been a loooongtime lurker over there since before said account existed, kudos'ing all manner of amazing writing. It's been probably ten years or more since I've posted any writing online at all, so I'm definitely a little intimidated. But I miss the community posting my writing gave me, so I'm hoping to find that again.

I'm currently working on a meet-chaotic modern au Steddie fic, but given that I only started outlining it last night and writing it today... it'll be a little bit before I start posting it. I'll post a snippet as soon as I have one - it draws heavily on the chaos that was my apartment building flooding from the fourth floor down yesterday in one very specific column of disaster because I am nothing if I am not a serial projector of my life's experiences into fic.

I would also love to write requests! (This entire post will get condensed down to a tidier pinned post at some point.) At the moment, I would be more than happy to write for the following fandoms (a short list that I hope to expand):

Stranger Things (current hyperfixation - I'll likely gravitate to writing for this fandom at the moment.)

Our Flag Means Death (an absolute love of my life)

The West Wing (for the, I imagine, eight or nine other folks on here who have a political show from the 90s/00s as a comfort show)

I'll post a list of things/characters I will and won't write for/about soon - I'm open to writing about a lot of things and there aren't many characters I wouldn't write about for the above fandoms. I will write smut (please no minors!! in general but especially for this reason), but I haven't done so in a long time, so please go easy on me with those requests for the time being, lol.

And, finally (thank you for sticking with me through this absolute word vomit if you have), please talk to me! I'm a little shy about reaching out first in new situations, but there are few things I love more than babbling about fic and fandoms with likeminded folks!
