"Jace was forcefully shatterstared by Porter" "Porter killed Jace and forced him to work with him"
What if Jace died some other way and the only way Porter can bring people back is through the shatterstars, HUH!? What if Porter didn't want Jace to become a rage monster but this was the only way to bring him back, what if Porter wanted to keep Jace safe from it all but Jace insisted on building a bridge between them and this is the only way it could work, HUH!? What if it was SAD

I actually think this is a good character choice because this whole season is talking about how Fig putting so much time into her friends is a bad thing because she doesn't make time for herself. Fig deserves to be selfish and go on a time adventure with her girlfriend.
And sure, it wouldn't be the same, but the Bad Kids wouldn't be "bitter and sad and full of grief" because Fig didn't die, she's just taking a year out to be with Ayda
Thoughts About Fig "Choosing Another Path"
Emily expressed at the beginning of the season that she did not want to play Fig again. Honestly I personally don't want to see another IH Fantasy High season without all the bad kids. The whole season would be bitter and bad and full of grief. If they need to put those characters to rest, then they should, and Senior Year can go die in a hole. But I think this was a way for Brennan to give the narrative that out in case a Senior Year does happen and Emily really wants to roll a new character. I don't want to see that option taken, but it's there. A little "Fig is on a time adventure with Ayda" now doesn't seem like an absolutely out of nowhere character choice, though I would argue it's still not great (Fig would never abandon her friends).

God I had such a sad thought.
I don't think its true but
Zelda's rage was "too intense" for normal classes. She had personal training with Porter because of it. I'm only on ep 2 of The Seven so I obvs don't have all the info but god that would be sad

Not to mention that she was a former adventurer!
So whenever a teacher dies/becomes evil the Bad Kids replace them with a parent and since Porter is evil now, and Lydia Barkrock seems to be getting healthier-

A personal headcannon that i'm for sure 100% happened is one time when Gorgug was young, the Thistlesprings sat him down to let him know he was adopted, and he was genuinely shocked like Po in KFP

@braininatankwithalaptop Since we don't fully know the details of what Ankarna's offers for them to comeback it depends, but at the end of the day she's offering for two 14 year old kids to come back to life. I don't think it's a "You have to be an evil rage worshipper in order to come back" and more like "Hey, doesn't it PISS YOU OFF that you DIED like that? Want it not be like that?"
We're also learning a lot about Warlock pacts, agreements, and how easy it is to be tricked in an agreement this season through Zara, so I can see how it ties into "Ankarna" tricking the people she's resurrecting to worship her
Picturing an AU where Porter revivified Gorgug and Kristen in Freshman Year before Aguefort could and they were his first underlings

I imagine they’re still in the bad kids but just hide it the whole time
See what I was thinking was that they're semi forced into a pact with Ankarna and are trying to escape it, but can't tell the other bad kids. So they can only really trust each other. They're forced to sabotage the other Bad Kids efforts in trying to solve the mystery all while hoping their friends break them out of this curse.
Also the flipside where they both go FULL into Ankarna, and are genuinely trying to sabotage them. I just think the first is more heart wrenching

it completely depends on how this season goes but I could see her retiring Fig for Senior Year and coming back as Mary-Ann
Emily initially not wanting to play Fig this season + Zara asking Fig if she has considered leaving the party to travel with Ayda... If we get a Fantasy High Senior Year, I'm thinking Fig isn't going to be in it :(
