So we all know that Tumblr is US-centric. But to what degree? (and can we skew the results of this poll by posting it at a time where they should be asleep?)
Reblog to increase sample size!

I don't want weird bad lesbian movies that focus on sex scenes.
I want movies with lesbian protagonists. But I also want those movies to have the same mood, tone, themes, writing, and quality as my favorite movies.
And I think the LGBTQ+ media genre needs to be abolished.

Trying to find out if I’m out of bounds here:
I have a coworker who is a lesbian. Another coworker “looked up fun slurs to call lesbians” and decided to start calling her a dyke. This coworker is straight (obviously. If she was a lesbian, she wouldn’t have had to look that up). The straight coworker also gives me the vibe that she’d love to call a black person the N-word if given the chance.
The lesbian coworker seems a bit uneasy about it but tolerates it.
I’m currently not out at work, but it just makes my blood boil. I haven’t personally heard the straight coworker call my lesbian coworker that, but knowing that she does and has upsets me.
The thing is: if the straight coworker calls my lesbian coworker a dyke around me, do I have the right to get upset and say something about it? I’m not afraid to come out while I express displeasure about the term, but since my coworker tolerates it, am I in the wrong to say something?
My lesbian coworker is also very young and naive, early 20s and eager to fit in. The straight coworker is in her mid 30’s ie old enough to fucking know better. For context, I’m also in my early 30s. I find the term offensive if a straight person says it, but if a lesbian chooses to call herself that, that’s fine by me.
Idk any other lesbians have thoughts?
