Eric knew he was just as worried about Alec in the coming fight as he was his own lovers so he could definitely empathize with how he was feeling. He also knew that like his own lovers, Alec was a strong-willed person and often did what he thought was the right thing regardless of what others wanted him to do. Perhaps that was why he and Danny had ended up as platonics, both sharing that same determined streak that bordered on stubbornness.

"Good idea. It's never a good idea to have all your ducks in the same pond." Eric agrees with his friend, mapping out where people would be in his head and making sure they would be able to see if he gave the signal. "I thought about the signal. There are trash bins lining both sides of where Ezra was staying, I'll set one on fire across the street and you'll know it's time to come. It's the best I can do without him noticing." He says so that they know the signal, mentally reminding himself to let Adam know as well so he and the shifters know. "Definitely, we don't want them knowing we have the backing of the pack. Keep that element of surprise. We'll do the same if more Nephilim join."

Eric was relieved to hear that everything would be taken care of in regard to the different species heading to the haven and glanced at the door when he saw Riley and Sam enter, heading to Mason. "That's the last of the ones going to the haven. We'll give them a few minutes to say their goodbyes and get them out of here. If you'll excuse me, gentlemen, I'm going to go say goodbye to my children and brother in law." He says with a nod to his friends before leaving to join his family.

Eric nodded when he saw Ava walk in and head toward Danny. “Most definitely not. I’m not sure how many will want to join this round but knowing Danny’s strong-willed platonics I doubt they will want to sit out either fight.” He says as he eyes Helenus since he knows Alec is his. “I wouldn’t worry too much, Kwan tells me Alec is a skilled fighter, should he choose to join us now rather than later.” He hums with a nod at the mention of the shifter’s bravery “I agree. It’s one of their more admirable qualities.”

“Oh most definitely they will know how to be discreet.” Eric says before thinking about Hektor’s question. “If he has his own scouts, which he probably will, having reinforcements in the same building may tip him off and he could run. I’d say maybe the neighboring building. With as many Fae and Warlocks helping it won’t take long for either to get to our location.” He says before nodding “Yes, thank you that would help too. The shifters would probably need it more than some of the others who have access to magic. Unless they haven’t been properly trained yet.” He says as he thinks of his new mentee Blaze.

Eric hummed with a nod. “Definitely doable. We just have to keep a level head going in. Getting the vulnerable out and to the safe haven will help people worry less and focus more on the task at hand.” He says before looking around at the people already gathered in the crowded book store. “I think we are waiting on Riley and Sam. Do you have blood bags at the save haven?” He asks, thinking about Sam “Marcel might send some with him but I want to make sure just in case. I can get Mason to get some, he’s got some at his clinic up the block. He’s on his way too so he can say goodbye to Riley before heading to the pub.” He says messaging Mason.

Helenus watched Ava and couldn’t help but wonder if Alec was on his way. Since this was all tied to Danny’s family he’d wanted to let him tell Alec but if he didn’t show then Helenus would contact him before things really started to happen. He couldn’t go into this without having done so. A tightening of his jaw was the only outward indication of his worry for Alec, because Eric was right, it wouldn’t be surprising if he wanted to fight too. He didn’t want Alec anywhere near this but he wasn’t the type to force that on him or even ask it of him. Alec was his own man and could decided for him. Helenus would respect whatever call he made. He turned his gaze to the warlock, “You’re right, I’m sure he’ll be able to hold his own should he choose to fight,” he didn’t look at his brother, already knowing the look he’d be giving him. 

Hektor nodded in agreement, “We can have some set up across the street too. Best not to be all in one place,” he said, thinking about the strategical advantage of having forces in multiple locations. “Both of use will be able to move people into position when it starts,” he told Eric, confirming what he’d said about it not taking long for them to get to them, “You send the signal and we can be there in a second,” he finished with a nod. “It’ll be a good idea to shield everyone, make sure they can’t sense any of us, including the shifters on patrol,” Hektor continued on from what his friend had said. 

Helenus nodded, getting those who couldn’t fight to safety was one of their best plays. It meant no one defenceless could be used against them. He looked round them too as Eric did. Just two more, that was good. He glanced over at his twin, silently letting her know it wouldn’t be much longer. “The Haven will provide all that they need,” Helenus confirmed, turning back to Eric. “Cassie will be able to show them how things work, how to access what they need once they arrive. It’s easier to show rather than explain,”

Danny held onto Skylar while Eric said his goodbyes to the twins, trying to keep his emotions in check as the weight of his words to their little ones paired with his confession settled over him. Danny kisses their little heads. "Don't worry, my angels, Daddy,Appa and Eomma will return to you." He says "Uncle Joel will keep you safe." He says trying to lighten the mood. Eric gave Danny a grateful smile for being so strong despite wanting to fall apart because of what he knew. He gave Skylar a reassuring smile even though internally he was blocking how much dread and fear he was feeling. "Of course, nae sarang. Whatever it takes." He says repeating the words he said to Hektor before he contacted Caleb.

After his conversation with the brothers, Eric made his way over to the four people who held his entire existence in the palm of their hands. He kissed both of his fiancés before leaning down to kiss the tops of his children's heads. This was the hardest part, saying goodbye to his children knowing what was to come for him and not knowing if Caleb could actually bring him back. That was the part that worried him the most. He trusted Caleb with his life or he wouldn't have asked him to come back him up in this battle but he worried with Caleb being so much younger he might not have the strength to bring him back being an older warlock. He decided to push it to the back burner and focus on his beautiful children in that moment rather than what was to come. "I'm going to miss you, little ones." He says, stroke the tops of their heads "Take care of your Eomma and Daddy for me ok?" He says softly as he kisses their heads again, not missing the way Danny's breath hitched and the flash of dread that passed through their bond that he quickly clamped down on in hopes neither he nor Skylar would notice. Danny was being strong but he knew he confession was eating away at him. "I love you so much, my little ones, always remember that." He says softly to the two infants.

Hektor’s face was set in it’s usual firm look but Eric could see it in his eyes occasionally, a man who knew what Eric was about to face as if he had lived it before. His heart ached for his friend if he ever had to feel what he was feeling just knowing what he knew. He shook away the thoughts of what he knew was coming for him to focus on how to keep everyone else from facing the same fates.

“Malachi definitely won’t be expecting shifters, he doesn’t know Ezra is mated to one, so that’s one slight advantage we have. Adam has some of the strongest in the world and with Gryffin’s platonic helping boost them when they need it, they will be a force to be reckoned with.” Eric says with a nod of his head “I know Adam will put his best scouts on it. And yes, close but not too close. The warlocks and Fae will have a slight advantage of being able to use magic for cover.”

“Yes, back ups is always a good thing to have. Like I said before I have a feeling this won’t be over after the first fight, that would be too easy and everything I’ve heard about this asshole, he’s not going to make it easy to take him down.” He says “But I’d like to go ahead and get the ones who need protection from the fighting away as soon as possible in case he sends his own scouts ahead. We will keep something of Ezra’s he can track so we can lead him to us. Skylar has a protection bracelet on so that’s how he hasn’t been able to find him yet. I just hope he only takes it off of he absolutely has to.” Like if things go south and he gets taken so we can find him, his mind supplies. “Once I fill Adam in we should be set. I’m sure Danny will handle keeping the Nephilim in the loop for when the time comes.

“I bet he won’t be expecting nephilim either,” Helenus commented, nodding towards the short nephilim who’d just entered and headed straight for Danny. Turning his thoughts back to the shifters he nodded in agreement to what Eric said, “Not to mention their bravery,” 

“The fact many of them are used to security work should help too,” Hektor chimed in. “Do you want us somewhere in the building or one of the neighbouring ones or further away?” he asked, starting to form a plan. “We can cloak those not able to do it themselves,” Helenus offered. 

Helenus had already mentally prepared himself for a long battle and maybe more than one. He was sure his older brother would have too.  This wasn’t their first rodeo after all. “Not easy but still doable,” Hektor grunted beside him. “Of course,” Helenus nodded, agreeing they should get them to safety soon. “Is everyone that’s going here yet?” he asked, surveying the crowd gathered again.

Caleb being there would help, he just worried Ophie might have been right in that Caleb might not be strong enough to bring back someone his age being a young warlock but his gut told him to trust Caleb. When Helenus spoke, Eric hummed in agreement. “That’s actually not a bad idea. Adam has one of the strongest and most diverse packs in the world in terms of abilities so his scouts would be really useful to do that.” He says “I’ll admit I didn’t think of that so thanks.”

Eric didn’t miss the look the brothers shared and he felt it too, things were going to get ugly before it all ended for good. “For now I think it could work for a headquarters for the healers. If we need more room we might be able to convince Gendry to let us use his place for the injured. We have 4 healers at the moment but I know a couple we can call if we need more. I know Joel is friends with Jonna so she might help if we need her, and her brother if need be.” He says “Hopefully it won’t come to that but I’d rather be prepared for anything. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best right?”

Hektor’s face was set firmly but inside it was killing him seeing what Eric was facing, knowing what was going to happen. If he was being honest it brought back memories he tried not to think about. But Eric had a necromancer he reminded himself, he just had to trust that he’d be able to do what was needed when the time came. He locked his own memories away and set his mind to do what needed to be done to ensure the best outcome for this. 

He nodded, “They should be able to warn us if anyone’s in the area before they know they’ve been seen,” it had been a long time since he’d had to use his training but apparently it wasn’t something he’d forgotten. All those long days of learning and the long years of putting it into practice had solidified it in his mind. “And we’ll find somewhere close but out of the way,”

“A lot is happening, very quickly, it’s no wonder things like that have been over looked,” Helenus said, “But the initial plan is a solid one, you’ve all done well with it. It will be good to have back ups in both location and additional healers though, so that’s good to hear,” he added, turning his attention back to their conversation having made a rough tally of who was here. 

Hektor huffed a single note of a laugh, “Prepare for the worst and hope for the best,” he repeated by way of agreement. Helenus nodded in agreement too “It’s all we can do,”

I think it’s best if Danny, Gryffin and I wait there with Skylar and our allies be within hearing distance but out of sight.” He begins “Malachi is unaware of Skylar being in London so he won’t be expecting to see him there, he’s coming for Ezra. Liam went to Adam to tell him what’s going on and Adam sent a few to go with him and Ezra to the safe haven until this is over. He contacted me personally to tell me he’s sending aid so we also have the backing of the pack.” He continues “We are trying to keep the Nephilim out of this for now but I’m sure Ava and Alec probably felt things through their bond with Danny. The Mikaelsons are on standby if we need any extra help but hopefully the vampires will be a last resort, like the Nephilim.” He adds before looking right as Hektor as he spoke to them both “I’ve also contacted my friend Caleb to come stand with us. He’s a necromancer.”

He looks around at everyone saying their goodbyes and can’t help but dread going to say goodbye to his little ones. He lets out a sigh after a moment before turning back to them. “Is your pub offer still on the table?”

Hektor knew that Eric and he were alike enough that he knew what the look he gave him meant. He thought it was probably why they got on so well, they were similar in many ways and thus understood each other.  Many would mistake them for cold or even rude at times but Hektor knew the same deep level and emotion and caring ran through the warlock as ran through him. He hadn’t mentioned his suspicions about what was to happen to his brother and he didn’t dare look at him now to see if he’d noticed the look Eric had given him. 

Helenus too nodded to the new group of arrivals but he let his twin properly welcome them to the shop. With that he turned his attention back to the warlock in front of him. He nodded occasionally as he followed along with the plan and the support that would be on hand. After all they had no way of knowing how many people Malachi would have at his disposal. “A few of the shifters should scout the area in human form, make sure he’s not hiding allies too,” Hektor suggest, “They’ll be less noticeable than we will,” he added. 

Helenus’s stomach clenched at the mention of Alec. He’d hoped he wouldn’t be involved in this but he was Danny’s platonic so it was always likely he would be. He just had to remind himself Alec had been training since he was a child, he’d been raised for this as much as he himself had been. 

Hektor let those words sink in for a second, confirming his suspicion. Again he didn’t dare look at Helenus. After the thousands of years they’d spent together his younger brother could read him unnervingly well. Instead he kept his eyes on his friend and gave him a single nod, the only indication that he knew exactly what that meant. 

As the warlock looked away the brothers shared a brief look, full of the acknowledgement that this fight was going to get ugly. Hektor nodded again, “If you think it’s going to be big enough. It’s warded and I’ve added more to keep patrons from visiting today,” as he spoke his brother was watching the group saying their good byes, making a mental count of how many would be going to the haven.

He literally was, his mind supplied though he chose to push the thought away for the moment so that he could stay focused. If he allowed himself to think about what he knew he wouldn’t be able to keep a level head, he wouldn’t be able to help or keep the other safe.

Reaching for the door to the shop, Eric wasn’t surprised to see it open on its own to reveal Hektor in full battle garb ready for a fight. He would always appreciate Hektor who had become more than just a close friend to him since they met, he was a brother at this point as his kindred spirit in every sense of the word. He gave him a nod, stepping inside so that everyone else could pile into the shop, knowing it was going to be even more full when Liam arrived with Ezra and the shifters.

Eric gently kissed Skylar and Danny’s cheeks and sent them to say their goodbyes to those leaving while he gathered with Hektor and Helenus. “I can’t thank you guys enough for helping us.” Eric starts “We knew this day would come but we had no idea it would be this soon. I wanted to let you guys in on the plan.”

As they entered the shop Helenus pushed away from the book case where he’d been stood with an unnatural stillness. He was relieved they’d gotten here safely. At the same moment he’d moved, Argus had gotten up and plodded happily over to greet their guests. Cassie too stood and headed over to them, her whole manner radiating a calmness he was sure his twin wasn’t feeling. That had always been their roles though, since they were children. He was the warrior and she was the nurturer. Two sides of the same protective coin. 

The fae greeted them himself briefly before leaving them to their good byes. With a glance at Rowan, who hadn’t met them and was eyeing them up from his perch rather than introducing himself, Helenus headed over to join his brother and Eric. 

“You don’t need to thank us,” Hektor replied. The elder fae crossed his arms over his chest. He was eyeing his friend for any hint of what the warlocks text had made him suspect. Either way he was shielding his feeling on the coming fight very well. 

“He’s right, there’s no need. We’re happy to help,” Helenus concurred before falling silent to let Eric fill them in,”

The sign on the door read closed but it was about to be anything but empty. For now though the shop was quite, it’s occupants not saying much as they waited. Helenus was leaning against a bookcase with his arms crossed. Though he didn’t look like the bookseller he now was. The relaxed demeanour and smart clothes were gone. In their place was something that hinted at what he had been before he’d opened the shop, something that underneath it all he still was. He wore black fighting leathers and there was a lethal looking blade strapped to his back. 

Cassie sat quietly near by stroking the head of her Irish wolf hound. She was dressed normally, not a hint of what was to come on her but of course she was going to be so very far from the fighting that was sure to break out. 

Hektor was pacing up and down the entrance area of the shop, stopping every now and then to look out at the street for any sigh of their friends. He was dressed like his brother, ready for a fight and with the handles of his two blades sticking up over either shoulder.  

Rowan watched Hektor from where he was perched on the arm of a chair playing with a knife. “Are you sure this is a good idea?” the question was directed at Helenus even as he still watched the elder brother. “Yes, they’re like family. I trust them,” came the reply which seemed to be all Rowan needed to hear. 

“They’re here,” Hektor had paused again at the door. He now unlocked it and pulled it open to let them in.

Joel sniffles and buried his face into his husband's neck as he sobbed. "I'm so scared, Cheonsa. So scared." He says "This whole thing is giving me such a bad feeling and I don't want...I can't lose any of you." He bawls. "Come home to me, my love, come home to me and to Dae." He whimpers.

Kwan held his fiancé close as he sobbed uncontrollably, his heart breaking. He could feel his fear and his desperation through the bond and it broke him. He needed to stay with him, stay with him and Jamie. "I'm going with Atti." He says "I'll help keep them all safe. I can't leave him like this." He says earning a nod from Eric who said he would send word if he was needed.

"Yes, nae sarang, Ezra is safe. Liam has him. They are meeting us at Priam with the other pack members not joining the fight." Eric says and Danny nods beside him. Danny was unusually quiet since his talk with Eric but he tried to push down his terrified emotions so that Skylar wouldn't feel them. "We've got this." He says, breaking his silence.

David looked up when Skylar spoke and shook his head. "He's after my son. My son and my little prince, I can't stay behind in another location and do nothing." He says "I've lost enough people." He adds softly, unaware he was about to lose one more. He squeezes his husband's hand as they all leave but once again he couldn't help but feel a sense of dread and a brief flash of acceptance? through his bond with Eric as they headed toward Priam Books.

Joel couldn’t help but still worry because he knew Skylar, he knew his soulmate better than he knew himself sometimes and he knew he would sacrifice himself if it meant saving everyone. He said nothing though, only nodding and praying to whoever was listening to keep them safe. He couldn’t help but feel a sense of dread though, like something bad was going to happen. He watched as Skylar clung to Eric and his dread increased tenfold.

Kwan held Atti close and looked into his eyes. “Baby this is what I was born to do. Protect those who need protecting. I will come back to you. You focus on taking care of our little one ok?” He says placing a hand over his stomach.

Eric heard his phone chime and glanced at it when he saw a text from both Adam and Liam. “Adam is sending aide and Liam says he’s bringing people to Helenus who are not fighting.” He says “Liam is staying with Ezra at the safehouse.” He repeats to everyone.

“Good. Atleast a few of my babies are safe.” David says eyeing Skylar but knowing he would not step back from this fight. He turns to Magnus and shakes his head “I go where you go, miname, you’ve shown me how to heal so I can help the injured.” He says with a resolute no-nonsense nod of his head.

Gryffin could tell Joel was barely keeping it together. He wrapped his arm around his waist and pulled him against him so that Joel and Dae were nestled in his arms. “I-It’’s going to be o-okay.” He promised his love. “W-we’re going to m-make sure he d-doesn’t hurt anyone else. E-ever again.” He kissed Joel’s head. “Y-you need to be s-strone for Dae and the twins. Yeah?”

Tears rolled down Atti’s cheeks and he didn’t even try to stop them. He was inconsolable. Everyone he loved was going out there and leaving him behind. Who knew if they were all coming back or not. He buried his face in Kwan’s shoulder and sobbed softly. He knew he couldn’t beg Kwan to stay with him. But oh how badly he wanted to. To beg. To plead. To bargain. Anything he could to keep Kwan by his side. 

Skylar’s heart broke for Atti. He wanted to wrap him in his arms but Kwan held him. And Skylar had the twins to worry about. He kissed each tiny head. He didn’t have to tell his fiances how he was feeling. They could feel how terrified he was. How badly he didn’t want to leave his children. He closed his eyes and said a little prayer of thanks when Eric said the pack was coming. “Ezra is safe?” He asked, when it was said that Ezra was with Liam he nodded. “That’s good.”

Skylar met David’s eyes and his heart broke a little more. Because David had already lost so much. Danny too. His thoughts went back Yeunman and his conversation with her. “David…” He said softly but stopped himself. David had Magnus now. And the warlock was already moving to his side.

Magnus squeezed David’s hand. “Well then….let’s get the little ones secured.  “Joel, Muffin. Let’s go.”

Kwan sighs and holds Atti close with a nod of his head. “I feel it too but I promise everything is going to be alright. I’m going to stay behind and help make sure it’s alright.” He says “You and the baby are my number one priority and I promise you won’t fail. Nothing will happen but try not to stress ok? It’s not good for you or the baby.”

Kwan wrapped an arm around Atti and kissed his cheek after Magnus and David both agreed he should go. “I promise we will fix this. Don’t worry, baby. Take care of our baby and theirs ok?” He says softly before shooting off a message to Jamie to come and to Felix to let him know what was going on.

Skylar couldn’t promise that. Because they all knew if it came down to keeping everyone safe Skylar would sacrifice himself in a heart beat. He kissed joel’s cheek. “It’s going to be alright, my love. That I can promise.”

Skylar held his babies close, kissing their hair. Already dreading being away from them. But he knew when it came down to it keeping them safe was the most important thing. Even if that meant being away from them. He took a shaky breath. Leaning against Eric’s side as they waited.

Atti sniffled, burying his face in Kwan’s neck. He didn’t want to be apart. Not at all. “Can’t you come with us?” He whimpered.  “I won’t be able not to stress if I know you are out there.” He knew he was being unreasonable. But nothing about this seemed reasonable. 

“We’ll set up a station at Hektor’s. ‘ Magnus said. “I’m sure there will be injuries.” He turned to David. “My love…are you sure you don’t want to stay with the children?”

Eric and Danny both wrapped Skylar into their arms, pulling back after a moment to kiss him and then their children. Danny was still teary eyed after his conversation with Eric outside but he didn’t want Skylar to know because Eric didn’t want Skylar to know. Eric was the first to speak. “They will be safe, nae sarang, Helenus assured us they will never be found. Cassie will be there too.” He says and Joel says he’s joining them “See? Kwan had an arm wrapped around his soulmate as they walked up to the mansion. He was on edge, his guard up having a feeling he knew what this was all about and also worrying because of that feeling. If it was Malachi he would make sure Atti stayed out of the crossfire, Jamie as well. “I know, baby, but I promise everything is going to be ok. You trust me don’t you? You trust Eric?” He says softly as they make their way inside where the others were gathered.

David received word from Eric that they were all meeting at the mansion so that is exactly where the portal carrying the newlyweds opened up. He took Magnus’s hand and made his way to the forming crowd, noting that their other son wasn’t there yet. “So what’s the word? Anything from Liam and Ezra yet?” David says and Eric shook his head “What’s the plan?” He asks.

“I am still waiting to hear what Adam is doing but for now the twins, Dae and Joel are going to a safe spot Helenus assures they won’t be found with Cassie.” Eric says.

Kwan speaks up “Atti is going too, and Jamie, I’ll get him here.” He says as he gives his love a look.

Skylar held Joel tight, kissing his cheek. “I know my love. But you have and even more important task ahead of you. To keep all the little ones safe. Besides..Eric and Danny will be with me. We’ll be fine.” He said the words thought he didn’t feel them in his gut. It was like he was numb to everything, And it frightened him. 

Skylar brushed Danny’s tears away. It pained him to see his love in such pain. “Oh Danny love. This will all be alright, somehow.” He said kissing his damp cheek. Though he had no idea what Danny’s tears truly meant. He nodded to Eric. “Good. That helps my heart a little. Though I’d be lying if I said I was without a care.” 

“I trust you…” Atti said softly. “And Eric…I just…” He didn’t know how to put his edginess into words. “It just feels like something awful is going to happen.” He wrapped his free arm around his stomach, trying to protect their baby as best he could. “I failed once…I can’t…I don’t know what I’ll do if I fail again.” He whimpered. Knowing Kwan would understand. 

Magnus placed an hand on David’s arm, giving it a squeeze before going to greet Atti and Kwan. He kissed both of them before returning to David’s side. “I second Kwan. Atti goes too.”

Atti opened his mouth to argue but closed it again when all eyes turned to him. He didn’t want to be a bother. And he wasn’t going to be any use in a fight. So the best thing for him to do was to stay under the radar. Swallowing his heart he nodded. “Okay.” He could at least help Joel with the babies at the very least.

Joel and Gryffin were the first to arrive back at the mansion while everyone else prepared for what was to come. The entire journey home, Gryffin had been trying to convince Joel to go to the hideout with Dae and the twins but Joel couldn’t just not stay and protect his soulmates. “Gryffin, cheonsa, I can’t just not do anything to protect you and Sky. I couldn’t live with myself if anything happened to either of you.” Joel says as he holds their son close in his wrap carrier. Upon seeing the desperate look in his husband’s eyes he sighed “Cheonsa….I will be worried sick.” He sniffles as they make their way up to Dae’s nursery to pack his things. “Sky?! Eric?! Danny?! We’re here!” He calls out as he puts things into a large duffle bag for their son.

Eric and Danny arrived at nearly the same time, both sharing a concerned look but stopped outside the door. “Danny, take care of them, nae sarang.” He says, his voice breaking slightly and Danny shook his head “Don’t….don’t go there.” He wants and Eric sighs “I feel it, Danny, I feel it’s going to be me.” He says trying to keep from breaking “If what I feel comes true, I want you to take care of them. Promise me, Danny.” He says and Danny couldn’t help but choke out a sob, tears rolling down his face. “You do whatever it takes to come back to us, whatever it takes, but I promise.” He chokes out as his kisses his love.

After a few moments, they broke apart upon hearing footsteps up the drive and turned to see Atti and Kwan walking up looking confused and concerned. “Let’s go in. I’m waiting to hear back from Ezra and Liam.” Eric says when they got closer and the four headed inside.

Skylar grabbed the bag and went to go meet Joel and Gryffin. He put on a brave face for Joel who already looked like he would crumble at any second. “Hey…none of that.” He told his soulmate. “This is going to be alright. Right? We’ve been preparing for this.” Even though nothing could prepare him for having to see Malachi again. And he knew it had to be him. He wouldn’t put Ezra in that kind of danger. He kissed each of the twins heads, then Dae’s, then he kissed Joel and Gryffin on the lips. He squeezed Joel’s hand. “You’ll look after them for me won’t you, Jo Jo?”

He heard his loves when they entered the house and rushed to meet them. “Oh Eric…Danny.” He whimpered, carefully kissing each of them around the twins still strapped to his body. “They’ll be safe, won’t they? Promise me.”

Atti didn’t know what to think, he kept hold of Kwan’s hand and held it tightly. The emotions going on around them set him on edge. He could feel that something terrible was happening and he could only imagine it had to be Skylar’s ex. Why else would they all be gathering here like this? “Kwan….” He said uneasily. “I don’t feel so good.”

Gryffin stayed glue to Joel’s side. He wanted to go talk to Eric and Danny but he couldn’t leave his love’s side. He felt torn to be in two places at once. He curled his arm around Joel’s waist, tugging him to his side. He nuzzled Dae’s little head, covering it with his hand.
