i don't think anybody throws out advanced tech honestly (at least not in good condition)... your best bet is either buying a patched up one for cheap online or becoming wealthy suddenly. OR you could use cheaper substitutes depending on what exactly you need (like depending on what project you are doing, probably don't do this if you are building something that might be dangerous to your health if you use cheap parts and it malfunctions) so some details here might be good

i have been looking online to see if i find anything, but I haven't found exactly what i need on sale yet. the parts i need are kinda specific, only compatible with specific kinds of machines, so it's really hard to find anything

i DID however find out about a giant scrap heap not too far for here. apparently eggman uses it to dump all his scraps and rejects, but it's off limits to the public... might be a bit risky but i think i'd be worth it to check it out

this is such a coincidence because i am previous anon and when i saw you answered my ask i was listening to hito mania whatt!!! okay new ask to keep you not so bored umm... speaking of moving, how did you ever survive living with humans so long? i have to visit the nearby majorly human populated city for work sometimes and i feel like it's borderline unbearable while i'm there, constantly fight or flighting and all

i dunno to be honest. i've been in empire city for as long as i can remember and i haven't really left until recently. being surrounded by humans is kinda all i've ever known?

i didn't realize how different living around other mobians would be until leaving the mainland for the first time, but it's definitely a breath of fresh air. especially since i no longer stick out like a sore thumb or have people looking down on me. it's really nice
