abby and clarke were from polis and this is when he becomes her apprentice. abby was the only one aside from miller who he spoke to about his mother, eventually he comes to consider abby as a second mother.

while jackson was born in louwoda kliron, he was trained to heal and has spent most of his life in polis. he moved there almost immediately after the death of his mother. it always hit him hard when one of his patients was a parent, especially when they didn’t make it. though whether he could personally relate to one of his patients or not he was always very perceptive and personal with his patients.

Character // harper grounder verse

harper as a grounder was louwoda kliron’s ambassador, she was smart but tough. she was a strong fighter but hated war to much to live a warriors life. as much as living in polis left her missing louwoda kliron she loved polis. it wasn’t as colourful as home but harper loved experiencing the different cultures of the coalition and her job as ambassador. going through life without being able to voice her opinions in a influential way was almost painful for her. especially coming from louwoda kliron which is a generally a soft spoken clan, often to a fault.

all that said, in her downtime she never lost her soft side. she enjoyed being in the market and was almost never tucked away in her room. having quiet time to herself never interested her as she was a people person. not a common trait among grounders but people living in polis tended to be much more personable and relaxed.

Clan Building // funerals

death in louwoda kliron is truly acknowledged as the saddest fate. aside from the commander they believe death is the end. based on their beliefs the funerals they hold would be considered a shocking contrast. they are colourful and lively events with singing and conversation.

louwoda kliron people are one of the only clans to bury their dead. despite believing death is the end and the bodies are empty they are still most often buried together with their loved ones. Whether or not this means redigging the graves.

the graves themselves look quite different than ours. colourful netting separates the body from the dirt while the rest of the grave is filled with natural beauty, like flowers, fruits, even animal corpses; most notably birds. as one might expect the graves become much less appealing when they’re dug back up, but the additional body comes with additional netting, flowers, etc so it’s not as bad as one might expect.

Madi Griffin // what happened in the six years

over the six years, madi and clarke's relationship developed into a mother-daughter bond. clarke teaches madi to speak english, drive the rover, she also played games with her and told her stories about her past. the stories were the madi’s favourite, clarke was a good storyteller, it almost made madi feel like they weren’t alone.

she couldn’t help favouring octavia, (clarke saw that and altered the octavia story’s a little bit,) octavia was hidden from her people just as madi was from hers but none of her story’s ended like that, they ended with octavia being the first arker on the ground in nearly three hundred years, octavia staying with clarke in mount weather and splitting the bunker evenly.

madi taught clarke everything she didn’t already know about earth, showed her how to spear fish and taught her about every plant they came across. madi had always enjoyed learning about nature herself and found she enjoyed teaching it even more, clarke could tell madi enjoyed teaching her so she’d keep quiet when they came across a plant she already knew; not that madi could tell.

Clan Building // war

while other clans have some pretty brutal pre-war traditions to get themselves ready to fight, louwoda kliron warriors will often meditate before going to war, (not that they go to war often as their a relatively peaceful people and don’t interact with the other clans often enough to have enemies;) they believe meditation helps them fight more effectively. more with technique and less with anger.

their fighting style is more defensive rather then offensive and they’ll often use traps to get an advantage over opponents. unlike some of the other clans they don’t show off when they fight or kill brutally without reason, every strike is has the adjective of an immediate kill as they don’t do prisoners; this is because they don’t believe in bringing the enemy into their home.

they definitely don’t use blood as warpaint and find it dishonourable when others do but their warpaint is red, sometimes they put some yellow over the red but yellow doesn’t show up well on your skin even when it’s put over the red. their shields are often painted in reds, blues and yellows.
