Hi.
Long time, no tumbl. I actually couldn't remember my original tumblr log in info, so I'm starting fresh. Which may be for the best. I'm not sure I want to open the pandora's box of who I was at 18-22--I don't think we would be friends.
Who am I now? My name is Laura Sebastian and I write fantasy books. My first YA series, the ASH PRINCESS books, are probably my best known, but over the last couple of years I've written an adult retelling of The Lady of Shalott called HALF SICK OF SHADOWS (like the show Merlin, but with more justice for its female characters), launched a second YA series with CASTLES IN THEIR BONES (triplet assassin princesses in arranged marriages that are more than they seem) and just last week my first middle grade book, INTO THE GLADES came out (swamp fantasy adventure about grief and magic boogers).
On the more personal side, I was born in Florida but have been living in London the last two years and can often be found wandering the grounds of ancient houses with my dogs, Neville and Circe, and a good book in hand. I also love to cook and bake and have recently bumped that hobby up a notch by growing fruit and vegetables in my garden.
I'm hoping to use this page to post everything from fan art to book aesthetics to tease quotes to personal thoughts and feelings, but if you have any questions about me, my books, or my process, feel free to ask away and I'll try to answer.
