Those who follow me on Instagram have already seen these, but I wanted to compile my Inktober drawings since this is the first time I’ve completed a full challenge. My theme for 2016 was Cats in Video Games and I ended up having a lot of fun figuring out (and drawing!) different felines from games I enjoy.

Hi there, I don't know if you will ever see this message as you don't seem to use tumblr anymore, but I wanted to drop by with a comment for you. I used to follow your cosplay and art years ago when you was first doing the Heather Mason stuff. I always thought your work was top level and that you was so unbelievably gorgeous too. Maybe that sounds creepy written here, but that's not my intention, ha ha. From one total stranger to another I want to wish you all the luck and joy for the future.

I’m sincerely sorry for my delayed reply. I don’t post to tumblr very often anymore, and I apologize. I’ve had my fingers crossed that things will continue to settle down from how crazy they were last year (I ended up buying my first house, but my Dad was suddenly diagnosed with cancer and had a Whipple Procedure as well as months of chemotherapy in response to it. I was also started on a transplant medication for my own chronic illness and have slowly been increased to the maximum dose, so 2015 was a bit hectic to say the least.)

Sometimes it’s surreal to remember when I first started cosplaying in 2002 but at the same time I miss it a lot. I get super self conscious when my Cushing Syndrome is bad, so I tend to not cosplay as often if my steroids have been at a high level for a year or more. It’s not creepy though, and actually means a tremendous amount to know that my costumes are still remembered despite my age and illness.

Thank you so much for your message of encouragement. Sometimes I get down on myself-- that I can’t simply “feel better” and that I’ll never be healthy again, but other days I’m thankful I haven’t needed a transplant yet and can still manage to work doing something I enjoy. Your wishes of luck and joy really do mean the world because I can often use both nowadays.

I tried to do the Outfit A Day challenge this past July. I managed to complete 15 days but most of them were pen sketches. It would be fun to start another round since fall clothes are my favorite ♥

Hello there! What is the story behind your nickname "Leesers"?

Hello!

Leesers is a nickname my friends made up way back in middle school! My real name is Lyse (pronounced ‘lease’) so friends would add -ers to the end in a singsong way and Leesers just sort of stuck. I changed the spelling from Lysers to Leesers because I thought the e’s looked nicer and possibly easier to pronounce?

But yes! Nothing interesting or cool, just a really old nickname :)
