I don't like The Archer by Taylor because it sounds like she is trying to say too much. Physically, she says too much, like she doesn't have enough song for all the lyrics. In this new album, every song sounds like that to me. It's like she brought in 3000 words, and Jack said, “You have two minutes, GO!”. Then, some of the lyrics feel really clunky.

I’ve only listened to half the album bc decided to save the rest for release day (but let’s see if I give in tonight lol) but honestly I get that

She was absolutely trying so hard for poetry and classic literature with the aesthetic so everyone thought she’d be going more folklore but the second I knew jack was involved I knew that wouldn’t be the case lol I was bamboozled in the lead up to lover when the aesthetic was all whimsical and pastels……then she released me! Soooo I’ve learnt my lesson big time
