Could you, pretty please 🥺, hand over the plot of the new au
"Heavy is the toll that comes from being raised by justice only to break free from his shackles and become a chaotic being alongside your other half."
the premise: What if Erlang took in SWK when he became the Bimawen instead of letting him escape and cause a Havoc in Heaven?
short explanation: Azure Lion tells Wukong that he should go to Heaven and, "Show them what a true king is worth!" only for Wukong to be stopped by Erlang from leaving the stables when he realizes Wukong is upset about being mocked and put into such a low status via tricking him. So Erlang takes him in under his wing and the plot of JTTW does continue but the events that lead up to Wukong being trapped under the mountain are different and QXT is sucked into this story by force.
Long Explanation: BUCKLE UP IT'S GOING UNDER THE READ MORE WIDGET! (WARNING! IT HAS SEASON 4 SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN THE ENTIRE SEASON YET!)
"Hold on, I'll try to give it another go."
Wukong is raised on FFM by the four stalwart generals Ma, Ba, Beng and Liu (not at all related to Liu'er Mihou/Macaque) and they're the ones who introduce SWK to the stories of the Gods such as Erlang, Nu Wa, the Jade Emperor and several other gods and myths from the Pantheon. Wukong finds them interesting but sees no reason to try and make any moves to invade Heaven or disturb them, seeking only his own immortality and that of his fellow monkies for he believes they should dictate when their time is up rather than succumbing to death just because it was "pre-written by destiny".
This leads to SWK finding his first Master and gaining his name, the events of erasing himself from the book and gaining his staff from Ao Guang, too. (Except, for a brief second as he waits for the dragon kings to finish assembling his weapons, he sees a tiny dragon boy hiding behind one of the stables and he plays with him, helping him adjust his sleeves so he doesn't trip over himself.)
Azure Lion on the other hand, is a general for the Jade Emperor in charge of securing the mortal realm and making sure to carry out his orders as told by the Jade Emperor which then leads to him learning of Sun Wukong and asks to form a brotherhood with him and his companions. (Around this time, Wukong has not yet introduced Macaque to anyone else as the latter is getting adjusted to joining SWK's mountain troop. He does not like the idea of Azure asking SWK to be his "beacon" of hope, though.)
When he asks Wukong to go to Heaven when he's invited by the Jade Emperor himself and, "Show them what a true king is worth," much to the Monkey's delight.
However.
Erlang Shen is present around this time instead of being away with his sworn brothers at his own temple, and he's there to greet the monkey king when he arrives. The two shake hands for a brief second and Erlang yanks his hand away when he realizes how much power Wukong has and wonders why he's being taken to the stables instead of being handed off to the Ivory Lady or himself to train.
The events go as follow:
Wukong meets the Ivory Lady and her War Chief while he's cleaning the stables and surprises her by engaging in conversation with her, stumping her with his own words of knowledge from when he studied under Master Bodhi.
Ivory Lady and Erlang converse about why Wukong might have accepted the invitation to come to Heaven if he knew he'd be given such a low status position.
They learn of Azure Lion being in Wukong's brotherhood from the monkey himself and connect the pieces together.
Ivory Lady suggests to Erlang that he take Wukong under his wing for, "Your plans to overthrow the throne may have to wait until you can get him on your side."
When Wukong learns of his status being the most lowly ranked one he tries to create havoc — only for Erlang to intercept and say, "I'll train you." and Wukong is unsure of this until Erlang says, "I can make you a legend. An actual legend, Sun Wukong. Not a stable boy or a false king."
When Azure Lion learns of this, he decides to send Macaque to convince Wukong to return to the brotherhood... only for Erlang to intercept that as well.
The actual Havoc In Heaven is much more traumatizing than it was in the show, with Wukong being betrayed not once but twice by everyone around him (even indirectly by Macaque).
Canon evens with the LMK timeline still happen with several changes added to make sure they coincide with the change of SWK's upbringing as the Great Sage Equal to Heaven.
(Hint, hint: he almost tore the Jade Emperor's head off and was only subdued when Erlang caught his wrist and said, "Brother, you're better than this," which allowed for Wukong to be captured :))
Silly funny AU moment :D any other questions?

Investing in this post because this is such nice art! <3 I adore the shading on Mk / Xiaotian’s clothes, it gives his body shape and weight. And the shadow over his eyes as he looks to his left at whoever is in the shadows!
Also, his body language? It’s so wary and cautious as if he’s fearing what he’ll see.
LMK SPOILERS
As you all know I am insane and deranged about season 4

I was recently going through some of my notes on JTTW because I wanted to work on a something, and I found a bit I have saved about the the demon kings and them being sworn brothers to SWK.
SWK lists off all of them and their Sage titles, because he's probably very proud of his siblings and the titles they chose and just also polite like that, and ends that statement with he was the 7th brother because he was the smallest in one translation. I haven't yet compared it to the other version I have but I'm pretty sure it's probably meant to imply youngest rather than physical stature.
However, this has lead to A) me hoping/ wanting LMK to touch on the these relationships somehow, especially since the DBK family is so prevalent in the show. Or you know anything really.
And B) the absolutely wonderfully hilarious image of Wukong introducing his brothers, and all of them towering over him at various heights. Which if you're in the camp that puts him at a 6ft + is just at least twice as funny.

Good Ending for Lego Sun Wukong
- at the end of the show, Sun Wukong gains enlightenment and becomes a Buddha.(like in the novel but I don’t know his status in the show)
- basically it’s revealed that train Xiaotian/MK was his final trial/make up test. The Buddha/Bodhisattva Guam Yin saw how broken he was post -JTTW and also saw that he didn’t revert back to his pre-JTTW self. He is clearly trying to good but need help to further cultivate himself.
- Xiaotian is basically an embodiment of all SWK’s good traits(still his own person but you get what I mean). It like a mix of “healing you inner child”, get SWK to socialize with others again, getting him to grow though mentoring another person, deal with all his flaws and trauma.
- so when Xiaotian is fully trained, has come into his own and SWK has resolved most of not all his remaining issues, Guan Yin comes to get him. The bodhisattva tell him that all his efforts will not be in vain. How proud of him they are. SWK doesn’t believe them at first due his self esteem issues but after using his golden vision, he knows for sure they are telling the truth. He cry tear of joy on Guan Yin’s shoulder for a while.
- Flowers Fruit Mountain becomes a nature reserve/protect land. SWK is the legal owner/protector of the mountain. This is relevant to both heaven and earth’s laws. FFM is safe and protected.
- SWK has reconciled with the Monkie Kid crew. They all see him as a friend/family. SWK has reconciled with the Demon Bull Family. DBK and him never have the same relationship(pre-JTTW) but they make amends and rebuild a new relationship. Red Son and PIF are cool with him. When Red Son first acknowledged him as his uncle(in law) SWK was over the moon with joy.
- The Six Eared Macaque and him come to an understanding. Macaque finally respect SWK’s boundaries and actually apologizes to SWK. Macaque is slowly learning to be his own person and take accountability for his actions. They are not close but on good terms now.
-when the Monkie Kid crew find out, they tore him a “congratulations/going away” party. It’s bittersweet. There is a whole lot of cry and hugging. MK has mixed feelings about all this. He IS happy for his mentor but it cements that this chapter in his life is over. It’s a little scary know that he has go the next part of his life without his mentor as a safety net. He is worried that they wouldn’t to as close anymore. He hid this from SWK to not be a bother. the truth does come out eventually and the two have a heart to heart.
- the next day the Bodhisattva comes to get him and the Monkie Kid crew, Bull Family, and macaque see him off. As the two fly to Thunderclap Monastery, a slow version of the theme song plays. We get shots of what everyone is doing now. At the end we get the final version of the theme song title screen. This time Sun Wukong is watching over the monkie kid crew as The Victorious Fighting Buddha/ Buddha Victorious in Stife.
- this is how I want the show to end. But I also have ideas on what happens next. I got the idea for this ending from the Steven Universe Future ending.

So I’ve been thinking about a theory I’ve seen going around that Macaque is a rogue Monkey King clone based off the fact that in the original JTTW it’s heavily implied that Macaque is literally made from SWK & represents his ‘evil side’ (which is why a lot of Chinese people interpret them as brothers)
And while the idea of Macaque being Monkey King’s version of Porty Clone is pretty funny there’s another possibility of Macaque being created from Monkey King without him being a clone that I thought of when seeing something about MK that we have yet to have an explanation for.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s been a few of times where MK’s reflections have displayed sentience either giving him encouragement or warnings & these instances have left a lot of people curious because we don’t know why MK’s reflection is sentient sometimes.
And that got me thinking about how Shadow Selves & Mirror Selves are very similar tropes often used for the same thing in story telling so what if Macaque used to be for Monkey King something similar to what MK’s reflection was for him only instead of having his reflection talking to him or giving him advice Monkey King had a talking shadow instead.
It would make SWK’s first line to Macaque in the show “Are you ever going to get sick of living in my shadow?” have deeper implications if Macaque used to quite literally /be/ his shadow.
Of course I have no idea if Mirror MK will ever actually be really plot relevant let alone have anything to do with Macaque but I thought about how in most readings & interpretations of JTTW it is commonly accepted that the Six Eared Macaque was created from SWK & is some sort of personification of his inner conflict, flaws, & things holding him back from enlightenment & I’ve even seen some adaptations have SWK in pain after killing the Six Eared Macaque since he’s actually killed a part of himself & how if LMK ever wanted to go the route of Macaque being literally created from SWK like other interpretations of JTTW has Macaque being a literally sentient shadow & MK paralleling Monkey King by having a sentient reflection would be kind of cool
Of course there are adaptations where the Six Eared Macaque is a completely separate being from SWK & LMK could easily go that route as well, which would make this whole theory entirely wrong but if LMK does go the route of Macaque being literally created from SWK I think having a sentient shadow created from one character & a sentient reflection created from another character would be interesting

So in the original JTTW it’s heavily implied that the Six Eared Macaque is literally made from SWK & typically represents the personification of SWK’s inner conflict, flaws & the things holding him back from enlightenment ect but I don’t really see the interpretation of Macaque being created from SWK pop up all that often in the LMK fandom.
Which is understandable since the friends to enemies trope is very popular & so it’s understandable why it would be more appealing to the fandom to play around with the concept of SWK & Macaque being friends & then having a fallout that ends with them as enemies.
BUT
I just want to talk about how Macaque being created from SWK/ SWK creating Macaque is also really interesting as well.
I just think there’s something so interesting about it when you consider SWK being responsible for Macaque’s existence, because no matter what SWK would still have the knowledge that he created Macaque & that the things he dislikes about Macaque probably came from him in the first place & on the other side of it it you’ve got Macaque who no matter how much he says he hates SWK & positions himself as SWK’s enemy/ rival there’s still the fact that Macaque would have never existed in the first place if it wasn’t for SWK.
Tumblr media
It makes the line “I’m nothing like him!” when they’re told “you know you two are the same right?” a bit more meaningful because oh look there’s the reminder that ‘oh you created this guy/ you were created from this guy’.ect
Also the idea of Macaque being created from SWK is really interesting from an existential point of view because it sort explains why so many of Macaque’s thoughts & actions are centred or revolve around SWK because he was created from SWK & now Macaque’s not sure how to exist outside of him.
Like he was part of SWK & now he’s not, he’s his own person now but doesn’t know how to /be/ his own person. He’s not SWK he’s the Six Eared Macaque but what does ‘being the Six Eared Macaque’ mean?, who is the Six Eared Macaque if not part of the Monkey King? He was part of SWK before why isn’t he anymore? Why can’t he go back to being part of SWK/ being SWK? ect
Like a whole existential crisis of coming into existence but not knowing what to do with said existence spawning an almost obsession/ hatred of SWK as his creator.
In contrast to Macaque’s existential crisis you’ve got SWK dealing with the embodiment of a part of himself walking around exemplifying traits of his that he used to have that he regrets, or traits that he still has but wishes he didn’t, seeing too much of himself in an enemy because this enemy used to be part of himself, part of himself that he doesn’t want to show others, that he doesn’t want to admit to himself ect
I could go on but this thing is already pretty long but anyway I wrote this because I do think that the interpretation that the Six Eared Macaque was created from SWK can be interesting in a LMK context
