I wanted to make a picture about Mairon making the iron crown for Melkor (or maybe he just modified it, so Melkor could insert the Silmarills?) In terms of storyline it might not make sense that Mairon makes the crown without Melkor having the Silmarills, but it also seemed wrong that Mairon would be able to touch and insert the Silmarills… Whatever Again the characters belongs to Tolkien and the character design to @valinwhore. After all I did want to make a piece of art for her birthday, so here you are, Suz. Late Happy Birthday again :) I hope you like it. After drawing Mairon and Melkor separately, I really wanted them together in one picture. I’m very happy with Mairon’s design this time, but Melkor seems somehow off… I’m not sure why, but when @valinwhore draws him, he looks way more sexy. haha I do miss the Secudtion of Mairon comic, but I can understand how much time it must have taken to work on this project. PS: For any cosplayers in the UK, anyone interested in cosplaying Melkor together with me? (I’m planning Mairon potentially for MCM London)

mairon: ok but what's its diet, are their wings made of leather or scales, how dense will their scales be, will they become stronger as they age, do they molt slowly or all at once, will we make them more mammalian or reptilian, what's the possibility of a fire drake mutating into an ice drake, do they spit fire or do they breathe fire, what are the chances they will turn on our orcs

yeah tolkien probably didn’t anticipate how bad he messed up by leaving the seduction of mairon so vague…….like if he’d just explained……..did melkor have good campaign ads? did he show mairon a 300 slide powerpoint presentation on why Evil is the Way of the Future? I’m sorry mr tolkein but bc you never specified im free to assume that mairon had a big embarrassing eternal crush on melkor and they held hands a lot and also probably the powerpoint happened at some point. you can’t stop me.
