Day Eight: I'm Thankful for The Any Book Book Club
I am thankful for the idea, from an article, written on Book Riot, then me making up my mind to make a Facebook group called The Any Book Book Club which happened to be the same day that someone posted in the Wiesbaden Welcome Wagon group asking about book clubs in the area. I felt like it was a sign from the heavens so I posted the Facebook group link to the post and so the adventure began. This all happened in June. July was our first face-to-face meeting and well I have to say that with common ground of books and the love of reading we all just clicked. Those that showed up at that first meeting has been coming ever since and more join each month.
So I am thankful mostly for meeting terrific women and man that also love to read and share their reading experience with the rest of us. I am thankful for the inspiration they give me daily and the laughter and wonderful memories I have already made with them in this very short time and I can't wait to see how we as book club members grow as a club and as friends! Being part of a book club is the most rewarding opportunity one can be a part of and I am thankful for the gumption to press the create a group button on Facebook and wait and see what happens, and be in awe of the results.

Day Four: Thankful for my health
This is Monday and well Monday was that bad so I thought hard about what I am thankful for on this day and I thought my health. This time last year I was sick most of the time. I had just arrived in Germany and I was getting used to the weather and it was not treating me nicely. By this post I have not been sick and I am thankful for this.
Day Five: Thankful for Krispy Kreme Donuts
Yes you read that right. It is the day before Veteran's Day and to honor our veterans Krispie Kreme donuts were served and I was so in the mood to have a super sweet donut, which is EXTREMELY RARE in Germany.
Day Six: Thankful for holidays in the middle of the week
A day to honor our veterans and a day to sleep in. Hey look I like my sleep and I chrished the day off to get a little extra. I thanked the veterans through social media and those in my life for sacrificing their lives everyday to ensure that I am so many others still have our freedom.
Day Seven: Thankful for my husband
And his understanding of my hard week I have been having with work and knowing when to just let me emotionally work it out by myself. He didn't push me to explain, he took care of Kenzie while I climbed into myself and worked through all my emotions. He knew that when I was ready I would talk about everthing with him, ask his opinion and we would find a solution together. But at the very moment that I was being emotional he let me be just that emotional.

Day Three: Sunday Quiet Hours
It is Sunday and although I miss being able to shop on Sundays, it is really a small inconvience. I love that Germany makes this day about family and closes stores, most food places, etc. The activities such as markets, festivals and flea markets though are open because these vendors usually do not work throughout the week, but all these activities are family insprired during seasonal months. Sunday can be lazy and it is OK in Germany and I am so thankful for their quiet hours rule.

Day Two: Things to do in Germany
I am thankful for always having a variety of activities to do in Germany. Every weekend Germans, Americans, and many other nationalities set out in their cities or towns or ones close by and take part in flea market shopping, festivals of all sorts, Christmas markets, Easter markets, tours of castles, caves, cathedrals, shopping, etc. So my saying is, "If you are bored in Germany it is your own fault." Except in the months of January-March these months in Germany are cold and no one wants to get out so be bored in those months and get out and experience Germany April-December.

Day One: Willingness to help
Today I am thankful for my willingness to help in situations that I may or may not have experience in but still have the willingness to encourage someone to do what they feel is right for themselves, or help find airline tickets that will carry someone home during a hard time so they can say goodbye to a loved one. I am thankful that I possess this personality trait, that it can shine through even on days I am under the weather or have had a bad week of confusion and mental stress, because it can be tough very tough to put your what seems large problems, which really are small problems aside to help those that may or may not realize they need a confidant to support them in hard decisions or encouragement and to offer without holding back is like releasing a balloon into the sky and wondering about the possibilities where it will travel and end up.

Drive to Triberg, Germany After we survived the mountain drive we decided to head on up to Triberg, Germany to cuckoo clock central. Yes, of course I made Donald stop side the road several times through small towns to take photos. We also stopped at the Hexenlochmuhle in Furtwangen, while there I got to try black forest cake and take photos of the muhle (mill). When we finally got to Triberg the sun was settting and we walked around the town and shopped a little then found a cute restuarant to eat at before climbing into the car and heading back home to Mainz. It was a fun and adventurous short trip. Kandel Mountain Adventure We found this mountain road and decided to drive it not realizing it is the height of 1,241 meters and Germany does not believe in guard rails or roads that are wide enough for two cars, really only one fits comfortably. So needless to say going up the mountain was not for the weak of heart (which was me). I was scared, but it was well worth it when I got to the top of the mountain. Driving down the mountain was less scarier even when we encountered cars than it was going up. I hope you all enjoy the views I captured. For our 1 year anniversary and my 39th birthday I wanted to go on a short vacation so we decided to drive down the Freiberg, Germany located in the southern part of the Black Forest. This city was quaint and friendly. I felt the hospitality right away. We went out to dinner and the locals welcomed us to their city and made sure our experience was delightful. The last photo is of the two couples in the restaurant that made my birthday night awesome! The following day we drove to the town square and walked around and took photos of the cathedral and shopped at the market. It was chilly but we enjoyed our time together and later we headed back up the scenic road B500 to see the spectacular views the Black Forest had to offer, stay tuned for those photos. My one disappointment in Freiberg was seeing the Freiberg bachle filled with water. They were dry, and I was sad. Next year I may go back in the summer in hopes they are full with water. The Millers spent the day with the Boyers in Ludwigsburg, Germany attending the Kuerbisausstellung Ludwigsburg (Pumpkin Festival). It was great family fun! I believe this is the Boyer's first German festival and we all got to try pumpkin flamkuchen, pumpkin pie (not as sweet as American pumpkin pie, but surprisingly tasty) and I got to eat my first bowl of pumpkin soup for this year, it was Lee Ann's first bowl. This was a beautiful area and my photos do not do it justice. http://kuerbisausstellung-ludwigsburg.de/en
