what's ur biggest art inspiration/ artist u look up to?

Oh man I have way too many friends and others to name off hand, but I’ll name some things I really admire when I look at artists work!!

Line confidence and strong use of line weight to convey depth is always something I really like seeing, especially on pieces with minimal to no color. Line weight can really add dimension!

I really admire splash artists that masterfully use detail frequency and balance to draw attention to certain areas, and their use of lighting and values. Both intertwined really help convey a message to viewers and draw you into their work, and I’m trying to learn how to apply that to my own work!

Another huge inspiration is going outside and into nature… or touching grass I guess haha!! I really like the outdoors and hiking, and often take pictures of landscapes or objects that I want to study from.

A lot of the people around me are so talented so I try to absorb techniques I see them using and apply them to my work where I can. I try to be very open about trying new techniques or processes to learn!

thank you so much!! very hard question to give just one answer so I'll give you two!

1: Hair!! I love building up shape and weight with curls or layers.

2: Finishing touches on illustrations. This could be hair or metal highlights, little sparkles where I see fit, blurring or sharpening different areas of the drawing, or painting over areas!
