"I may not be a girl always, but I AM a girlfriend" if that makes sense. a central theme of this version of Betty to me in general is that like Simon is the only thing that is worth being or feeling human for, in their eyes. everything else is small and stupid and embarassing but Simon has always made sense to her.

new vacation days Betty lore? i definitely think she is some genre of nonbinary but i don't know if she would've ever had a word for it. i think Simon knows she only really feels like a girl around him and he thinks that's awesome but like neither of them think very hard about it. fast forward to her becoming fucking god, I imagine if singular they hadn't occurred to her before then, it certainly would have at this point. she/they betty

not to be a furry but like golbetty's weird neck things being fur spikes instead of fucking flesh protrusions would be sick as hell. what if she actually has a flocked/velvet texture to her instead of having scales and shit. or she's built like a moth, even. I don't know what anyone would do with this information but I think she would make for a cool ass puppet

basically i think that one of the hardest things about simon returning to normal is that he has no fucking idea who he is anymore because he knows what watching himself be replaced by something else is, now. the crown whispers in a voice so close to his own that he can't help but believe that's who he is. the lines between him and ice king blur just enough that he can never convince himself he's free. how can he be sure that he never really stopped being ice king, how can he be sure it won't get worse? how can he be expected to build up a life for himself and get better when he knows exactly how quickly it can be taken from him?? perhaps he holds so closely onto Betty because he can identify as her fiance instead of a monster. I don't know if any of this makes sense i have many thoughts

the gang gets him out in the span of like two episodes at most through something stupid enough to make what actually happens really frustrating, too. like pb brings a marching band to golb and peppermint butler's tuba solo makes him cough up finn and nobody talks about it again
