Day 29: Favorite Quote
“Do you think Sawada Tsunayoshi has the makings of a great boss?”
“Nope. To be honest, I’ve never thought of him as my boss. But I think he makes a great Nii-Chan.” - Lambo

Lambo, I see you've returned. Whether that is a good thing or not I haven't decided yet.
“ Why, it’s a good thing, But I don’t remember asking you. ”

“ Young Vongola. ” A lightly surprised Lambo showed himself through a wall of smoke, an entrance that just as him, his acquaintances have gotten used to by now.
“ My, my. It seems my younger self has gotten himself in trouble again, and in the middle of a party, no less. ” He scratched the back of his head with his usual bored expression, looking at his surroundings to place himself in time and space.
“ Which reminds me, happy birthday. ”

As he decided to give up on his previous thoughts, the Italian couldn’t help but let out a little laugh when he noticed the brunet’s reaction to his previous comment. Again, it was really fun to watch, specially because of how different he was from the Vongola Decimo he saw everyday.
“ My, my... That sounds a lot like
something I’d have done.
But apparently it was here, after all. ”
His eye-- because as always, his right eye was closed-- Started to look around in the room, trying to find a clock to check how long it had been. It was weird, he’d normally know without the need of any reminder; But this time he got accidentally distracted, and even if Lambo wasn’t precisely the perceptive kind of guy, the situation itself made him feel each second more anxious.
Tsunayoshi’s voice, once again, interrupted his thoughts, and his attention went back to him.
“ Changed... Compared to the present?
Or to that future where we had to
fight once, a long time ago? ”
Tsuna wasn’t good at hiding his emotions either way, unless he was trying desperately hard.. which he didn’t really think was necessary right now. And it’s not like Lambo would judge him for it anyway— maybe tease, but Tsuna didn’t think he had to worry about it.
The brunet stretched his arms above his head and rounded the table sitting in the middle of the room to nudge at the curtains near the window, shoving them open a little more from where they’d probably been yanked shut by one of the younger kids. Maybe the words caught him a little off guard, just maybe, judging by the way he kind of stumbled in his movements— as graceful as ever, apparently.
“I-I thought he’d lost it..” Tsuna admitted after a second, eyes rolling. It wouldn’t have surprised him, knowing how the younger Lambo was. The brunet sank down onto his bed, a leg folding under himself, eyes focusing on the window instead.. this was just a little awkward.
What was there to talk about, especially when the other could just be leaving again soon anyway? “—Has the future changed much?” He didn’t expect much, but hey, he could hope.

It was bothering him too much. Something was not right. Not only the fact that he couldn’t remember, but also seeing that there was no one-- or nothing in the room that could have triggered his younger self to use the bazooka.
Even if, on the opposite side of his younger boss, hiding what was currently on his mind wasn’t a problem for Lambo, it took him actually a while to process what he heard; It also made him completely overlook Tsunayoshi’s attitude, which would have been in any other scenario completely evident. Maybe he was over thinking things.
He sighed. After all, there was nothing he could do but wait. It was useless to bother the brunet with something that for now was nothing more but a bad feeling.
“ It seems that way. However,
it’s nice seeing you, young Vongola.
For a while, I thought my little self had stopped
using the bazooka. I’m glad I was wrong. ”
Well if that was the case, it’s only been a minute or two.. he should be leaving pretty soon, huh? Tsuna wasn’t sure what the little pang of disappointment was for, though, this happened all the time anyway— right? It’d been a while since the last time, so, maybe..
Eeh, don’t think like that!
The brunet shakes his head, probably a little dramatically, trying to clear his head. Enough! “Eh, is that so?” Is the reply he manages, pushing the door to the room shut to hang his school bag on the back of it. He wouldn’t bother with homework for a while anyway, as usual. “I guess you’ll be leaving soon then, huh?”
It may have been a little hard to hide the disappointment. He got credit for trying.

He remained silent after the question, scratching the back of his head as he tried to remember, how exactly did he end up there. Well, he was kinda used to time traveling shenanigans, but some things would always remain weird to him.
“ I’m guessing it was right before
you entered the room.
But I can’t recall what happened. ”
Which was weird; The Italian could actually remember normally, the events before getting in the bazooka. It was probable that his younger self hit his head right before doing it.
At least he didn’t trip over his own feet or anything, give him credit for something, if just that. It was a really hard life as an unwilling mafia boss with a bad heart and no courage, honestly.
The reply put Tsuna a little more at ease, too, a hand patting at his chest before his arms dropped to his sides instead. “Y-yeah, it has.. sorry about that, too..” the brunet replies sheepishly, tugging the strap of the school bag from over his shoulder to let it sink to the floor instead. He’d control it better if he could, but y’know.. he kinda can’t. (Not yet.)
“Did you just get here?” He couldn’t help but wonder if the smaller Lambo broke the menace of a bazooka yet again.

A sigh escaped him the moment he saw the brunet’s reaction. It was almost amusing how different this Tsunayoshi was from the one he sees everyday. If he didn’t know better, it wouldn’t even cross his mind the fact that they’re the same person.
His palm found support on the floor beneath him, quickly standing up in order to welcome his boss from his apparent day at school.
“Well, hello, young Vongola. It’s been a long time.”
This was probably the last thing Tsuna expected to open the door to his room, though, he wasn’t sure why— this was normal by now. It still startled him whenever it happened though, for good reason (in his opinion).
So, the startled shriek that escaped him when he opened the door was totally justified.
It took a second for him to compose himself, a hand pressing to his face. “This hasn’t happened in a while,” which wasn’t a lie, “You scared me.”
