one of my favourite scenes from tbosas book was when Reaper had ripped the capitol flag off of the wall, and after he had made his little memorial he wrapped the flag around him like a cape and started running around ☹️ i really wish this was in the film because again it just shows how he, like the rest of them, were still kids, and no mask that they were forced to wear could hide that 💔

Katniss is impatient, Peeta is patient.

Katniss can sing, Peeta cannot even whistle.

Katniss is messy, Peeta is neat.

Katniss can cook, Peeta can bake.

Katniss nurtures, Peeta’s got humour.

Katniss writes, Peeta paints.

They make one hell of a team.

I hope Katniss and Gale's kids were friends.

Gale was very young and was manipulated by adults with a lot of power. He didn't have a clear guide and used all his incredible potential on morally dubious ideas. But I think after the war he can really change. Find someone who loves him, have a family, heal.

I think he would be a good father.

Imagine Katniss's children talking to Gale's children. Discovering that they weren't actually cousins and being a little shocked by a love triangle.

But at the same time Gale fought alongside Katniss and were veterans of the same war. They grew up in the same place and have very similar traumas. They children may find many similarities with each other.

And who knows, maybe create an unexpected friendship.

What makes my heart flutter about this scene is that Peeta doesn't care that he just died. He cares that Katniss cares that he just died. He's husband material-ing all over the place.

I'm reading parts of Mockingjay for fic research reasons and just got to this little bit when Katniss and Finnick are going to meet the rescue team and I'm emotional

I want to run, but Finnick's acting so strange, as if he's lost the ability to move, so I take his hand and lead him like a small child.

Once again thinking about Peeta being a "whiz" at fires and that Katniss is the girl on fire. And specifically thinking about how building up a fire takes oxygen. And how Peeta must know the right amount of breath to use to build it up. Not so little it doesn't take, but not so much that it gets blown up. Just enough support for it to become the center of the gathering.

And how a gale is a strong wind that would blow out any new flame trying to spring up. It's simply too much of what's needed and it's overpowering. And in a steady fire, gales create dangerous circumstances for wildfires bringing about widespread destruction, rather than a warming campfire.
