On the status of Rick, who leaves the group but gets paid as tour musician:

Waters:«It was a fait accompli, Rick was being paid a wage, he seemed happy with that, we were happy with that, and that was the end of it - or maybe he wasn't happy with it but it's not something we discussed.

Backstage it was all pretty separatist - separate trailers, none facing each other - ha-ha - with all our little camps. The atmosphere was awful, but the job, the show, was so important that certainly on-stage I don't think that affected me at all ».
