Week 9: Advertisement
In this week at English language class I study about advertisement. The definition of an advertisement is an announcement. Particularly for items or services that are up for sale, rent or which are available .If we want to make a good advertisement we should know what is Rhetorical Appeals, Rhetorical Appeals has 3 parts, which is logos, pathos and ethos. The definition of logos is the argument is based on facts, evidence, and reason a logical appeal and in order to giving reasons is the heart of any argument. The definitions of Pathos are also known as passion/ emotion, Pathos is appealing to the reader’s emotions and feelings. This can be any emotion such as fear, sympathy, excitement, happiness, etc. And the last one are ethos, ethos is ethical and in order to convincing because of the character of the author or speaker.  If you want to promote your product, service or anything you should make a good advertisement. There is also public advertisement the example are “ stop smoking” or “don’t use drugs”. So that it’s the explanation about advertisement.

Soo, at this week in English language class I study about persuasive writing. Ms fajri explain us about how to write persuasive writing. Persuasive writing is writing where you try to convince someone to take a particular issue on a point of voice. There is 3 parts of persuasive writing , the first one is part of speech. There is 5 parts of writing a speech, there are verbs, adjectives, personal voice, formal voice and nominalise. The second parts of persuasive writing are emphatic and figurative language, there are 3 parts of it which is metaphor, hyperbole, and simile. The other are rhetorical question, alliteration & rhyme, quotes/humor, repetition, examples, facts, and statistic & antithesis. My teacher ask us to make a speech and the topic are free, then I choose about  “live together before marriage” I disagree with that statement and in the speech I write why I didn’t agree with that statement.  Soo, if you want to make a script or body of the text you should understand what is persuasive text. The conclusion are if we want to make a body of the text or script we should understand what is persuasive writing. Have a nice day!

Week 5: Opinion
This is also one my favourite topic. Because i like to give my opinion to people and a lot of cases. With this study i was really hoping that i can imprve how i deliberate my opinion to others.  Soo, at week 5 in english class i learned about opinion and my english teacher explain more the definition and the function of an opinion. The definition of opinion is a judgement, viewpoint,or statement about matters commonly considered to be subjective. Many people using their opinion and it becomes an argument, it can be reasons that one opinion is better supported by the facts than another by analysing the supporting arguments. For example are Samsung are better than iphone, we don't agree with this statement than we give our opinion that why we don't agree with this statement. Every person has each opinions, you can agree or disagree with opinions. After i study english language, then i study economic. In economic class i study about PED (Price Elastic Demand) and PES (Price Elastic Demand), now i know the process how to count PED and PES. The formula for calculating PED is percentage change in quantity demanded divided by percentage change in price and the formula for calculating PES is percentage change in quantity supplied divided by change in price.

We can use wish when we want something to happen the example when we expressing wish are "i wish i had passed my ESL class semester" or " i wish i could go back home sooner" also we can use hope when we want to talk about possible situations that we desire in the past, present or future. The example when we expressing hope are " i hope he passed his class last semester" or " i hope he's a good time in Florida". After my teacher explain the definition about hope and wish, she ask us to make a display about wish and hope. There are many kind of wishes and hope that my friend already made in their card. Some of them wish that they could travel every part of the earth and some them hope that they became a entrepreneur or became a pilot. And for my card i wish became a successful person and i hope i can be an entrepreneur. So, if you want your wish and hope come true you should never give up!
