I frequently get asked why I wear dresses out to eat so much. Two words.

Maximum. Expandability.

I can eat as much as I want and I don’t have to unbutton anything or feel uncomfortable.

The dress: made for eating until your actually full

Feminist fantasy is funny sometimes in how much it wants to shit on femininity for no goddamned reason. Like the whole “skirts are tools of the patriarchy made to cripple women into immobility, breeches are much better” thing.

(Let’s get it straight: Most societies over history have defaulted to skirts for everyone because you don’t have to take anything off to relieve yourself, you just have to squat down or lift your skirts and go. The main advantage of bifurcated garments is they make it easier to ride horses. But Western men wear pants so women wearing pants has become ~the universal symbol of gender equality~)

The book I’m reading literally just had its medievalesque heroine declare that peasant women wear breeches to work in the field because “You can’t swing a scythe in a skirt!”

Today marked the achievement of a 7 year long goal of getting this lad to big boy Grand Prix level.

A very solid 1.40-1.45m track with some cracking horses in the field (keep in mind we've only ever done about half a dozen 1.35m classes before this GP lmao). Just had the one rail which was totally my error, pushed him to a triple bar which got us too close to the next jump and punched it out. If I'd have waited for the better stride to the triple bar we very likely would have been clean.

They took the top 6 to the second round, there were 2 clears and 4 on 4 faults each (if they ran under non World Cup rules I would have placed third lol), I opted not to start in the jump off because he did so fucking well in the first round, so because of that we placed 6th.

I'm so proud of what this horse has become under my guidance 😭💞
