I am so grateful that these hilarious, hardworking, amazing people welcomed me into this group shortly after starting at Straumann six months ago. The holiday party was pretty much planned by the time I jumped in, and it turned out great! So glad I was able to be a part of this team. This is my favorite picture of Meredith (but of course). I borrowed it from her Facebook page. She was my favorite person I barely knew. We became friends on Facebook a few years ago thanks to our shared love of @311, but we didn't actually meet in real life until earlier this year on the #311cruise. The whole cruise is a beautiful blur with a few special moments that stand out in my mind. Smoking a joint on the beach with her in Cozumel is one of those memories that I will always cherish. When our community lost Renee a few months ago, I was shocked and deeply saddened even though I didn't know her at all. To have this happen again is horrific and almost incomprehensible. Especially knowing Meredith well enough to understand just how bright her light was. She was the embodiment of #plur. "Stay Positive and Love Your Life" was more than just a motto for her. I was so excited to see that she was able to score tickets to 311 Day, and that it was going to be her first trip to Vegas, too. I remember thinking that I hoped I'd get a chance to hang with her there. Her energy was magnetic. I wish I had a fraction of her moxie. The best way I can think to honor her is to try and live life more like she did. Having more fun, giving less fucks. I am so beyond grateful for every single person in my 311 familia, even if I haven't met you yet. And I promise to try and meet as many of you as I can on more than just social media, because you never know when you are going to run out of somedays. Love you all. ✌❤👽 #RememberingMeredith #journeyinpeacenow
#MOSAIC is here! I'm so excited, and not just because I made it onto the cover with my favorite person in the world, @youdontknowdoug. So looking forward to seeing @311 next week in STL, and later this summer in Dallas!
Few things make me happier than this picture. Last night was another fun #douglovesmovies in #ATX. My name tag didn't get picked this time, but I did get to supply the name for Last Man Stanton. One of these days I will win that elusive prize bag, but getting to talk to Doug during the show is almost better. And then after the show, this happened. Finally got a decent picture with him. Big thanks to the nice lady who offered to take it. I have zero selfie skills. It took a couple years, but I am now able to be near him without forgetting how to use words and running away. Baby steps. (at Cap City Comedy Club)
I did it again on Friday. This time I drove 6 hours round-trip to spend an hour and a half watching this this guy. Worth it. Unfortunately, this was the only picture I got before the staff informed me it was no-no. Oops, my bad. So, you'll just have to believe me when I say that Mark Wahlberg was there, too. Or, better yet, listen to the episode yourself. It's now available wherever you get your podcasts. You may just recognize one of the name tags... #DougLovesMovies #DLM #Houston #Improv #DougBenson #LoveAndBulletsCharlie (at Improv Houston)
I had SO much fun last Friday in #ATX at the #DougLovesMovies taping during #FantasticFest. I'm super proud of my name tag. I plan on using it until I win that damned prize bag (I used to make a new one every time I got picked). Last year's show here was the first time I was ever picked, and this time I also got to give the name(s) for Last Man Stanton! It was a dream come true for this super-fan. I was elated just to get to go after finding out the upcoming Dallas show was going to conflict with a work trip. In a twist of fate, my trip just got cancelled earlier today. Unfortunately, Dallas is now sold out. So, I have a feeling I'll be road tripping to Houston on Friday. 😜 #AnythingForDoug (at The Highball)
Doug Benson: Well I don’t know how you’re going to react to this request James, but you did the actual, as I’ve been told and so far everything I’ve been told has been correct, you did the dancing for the baby Groot tree that appears at the end of the film.
James Gunn: Yeah that true yeah.
Doug Benson: So could you do a little of that for us?
