               PURE EXHAUSTION. that seemed to be the only thing fletcher could feel right now. last night had been one of her worse nights, not being able to find sleep until the sun had already risen and now… well, now here she was, slumped over in a booth, a plate with an uneaten sandwich and a half empty soda in front of her. she crossed her arms, leaning back slightly in her seat. her eyes began to drift closed, the fatigue really setting in. at some point her head shifted to lean against the wall, and she repositioned herself just a little bit to get more comfortable as she let the tiredness take over, pushing her into sleep. she woke with a start–the sound of a plate clanging down on the counter bringing her out of her slumber–and in the process, slammed her knee against the underside of the table. “ FUCK ! ” she smiled sheepishly when she noticed someone looking at her, obviously wondering why she just cursed aloud. “sorry, ” she said. “ didn’t mean to yell. ”

the sudden yelling startled her from where she was sitting on a table besides the booth. “it’s ok, don’t worry about it” mercury said, with a movement of her head and then offered the other girl a gentle smile. “are you ok? seemed like you were drifting off for a second there”. when mercury arrived at the diner her eyes had landed on the girl eating alone and on her exhausted expression.

cassie sat on the steps of the mapleview gazebo, a cigarette dangling between her fingertips. she looked out across at the scene in front of her, she liked to hang out here, it was quiet, away from the prying eyes of her dad and her step-mother. she takes a drag from her cigarette, leaning back against the gazebo, “i’ve been living here for a couple years now and i still don’t understand why you have like a thousand flavours for every food” she’s thinking out loud. 

mercury loves spending time at the gazebos, reading a good book and enjoying a cup of coffee. that day she wasn’t alone and her reading was interrupted by the girl siting on the steps. even tho she wasn’t speaking directly to mer, she still responded. “i don’t think i get what you mean” she said, putting her book down. “isn’t that the point of food?”

hayden was standing in front of her dad’s flower shop, sipping a coffee from her cup when she suddenly saw two people on the other side of the road stripping their shirts, throwing it away, and running together towards the mapleview railroad. “ oh my god! did you see that? ” she almost spited out that tasty liquid. “ what was that? that was crazy! and I thought that I saw everything in new york.”

as she was leaving the flower shop she saw the people running towards the railroad. “what was that?” she asked, bewildered, looking at hayden. her next comment made mercury laugh while she nodded. “ditto, i saw really weird stuff while living in LA but i don’t thing i ever saw anything like that.”

Location: La Belle Vie restaurant

Time: Night,around 11:30pm

It was a calm day at the restaurant and the closing time was near. Julietta had spent the evening running around the kitchen and whenever she had time,she would peak at the lonely soul having a quiet dinner all by themselves. When the restaurant was basically empty,the chef plated two of her delicious macarons,took off her chef hat and headed to their table. With a gentle smile,the Italian female placed the plate in front of them as her eyes searched for some sort of reaction from the other .“Your late night snack. Don’t worry,it’s on the house.” Julietta chuckled lightly,winking playfully.

mercury always had the weirdest cravings, so that night she decided she wanted to go eat and found herself at la belle vie, enjoying a delicious meal. she never cared about what other people thought about her eating all alone because she was used to it and she enjoyed it. while waiting for the check her eyes landed on the plate that was being layed down before her before looking up. “oh, julietta” mercury smiled brightly when she recognized the woman before her. “that’s so nice of you, thank you so much. the food was delicious by the way i really enjoyed it” with a nod on the head the blonde pointed the chair in front of her as an invitation for the other to sit down. "was it a hard night?"

she was born in los angeles, california. her parents owned a bar where a lot of famous musicians went to sing live before they were successful so she grew up surrounded by celebrities, even tho they weren’t famous at the time.

her parents met at a queen concert in the 80′s so that’s why they decided to call her mercury. when she was growing up she hated her name but now she loves and cherishes it. 

she was kind of rebellious when she was a teen, always getting into trouble and hanging out with the wrong croud. it wasn’t like she had bad parents ( actually they were great parents that only wanted the best for her ) but they were so busy with the business, especially at night, that they couldn’t always keep an eye on her. 

( tw: car accident ) her life changed one night when she was hanging out with her “friends” and because of wreckless driving they got in an accident. mercury was really hurt but to not get in any trouble they only left her at the gates of the hospital. that accident changed her life and showed her she was going the wrong way.

when she was in college she met a guy. her only experiences with relationships were really toxic and manipulative so when a nice guy came along she thought she found the one. the only problem was that he was really boring and had nothing special besides being nice. but still she agreed to marry him, because it felt safe, and that’s what she felt she needed to.

plot twist: she later realized she didn’t needed only that. she wanted more. the problem was that she realized that the day of the wedding and instead of talking about it with her fiancee, she ran away. with only the suitcase she was taking to the honeymoon and a few dollars mercury got on the first bus that was gonna take her far away.

she ended up in mapleview ready to start again. she doesn’t plan on staying in the town forever, but she really enjoys her job as a kindergarten teacher and it’s all she needs for now.
