really the only things that irk me about his design are his colors and his outfit, primarily the latter. considering how filthy his workshop is, and how gruff and grumpy he seems, i'd expect to find this guy elbow deep in gun parts 24/7. he gives mechanic vibes ya know? dingy and covered in oil and grease and scraped up to hell from working with his hands for traveler-knows-how-many decades. those bright colors and swaddling clothes just don't suit his personality, i think. he gives "personable, tough-love bartender", if that makes sense. like you could lean on his counter late at night and get into those deep conversations, really talk about some serious stuff. ya know? ya know?!?!?!?!

also that thousand-yard stare. i know this guy's been through a lot, if anyone should space out it's him, but. damn.

anyway. i just think this version is more pleasing, idk about y'all. just though i'd share. i love banshee-44 regardless. love you banshee, 'preciate ya.

For all the followers I have that read my fan fics. I thought I would show you my Stardust and The Crow fic. That is 92 tablets of paper and those are all the pen refills. I think I threw 3 away, but I usually go through 1 refill every two tablets, give or take. My Starlight Corvid story I type up firsthand. But this...this right here is my baby. I have been writing it since around May/June 2021. Anyway, I thought I would share.

In my mind I think he would be just walking next to someone and would zone out then the person would walk away not realizing crow is just standing there, then he would realize they are not next to him and start freaking out and hiding from other people (the other person would be Osiris) then the person would realize that crow isn’t next to them and would have to ask around to find him and after 10 minutes some random person would find him hiding behind some box and would tell the person who is looking for him where he is

he Loves dawning but can’t go out in the tower that much cuz he’s scared of other people just randomly taking his mask off

he makes sure he makes cookies for everyone he can (even if they taste bad) but he would awkwardly just hand them to the person and thank them quickly and run away.

osiris and saint 14 adopted him and nimbus and they are like big happy family 🤠

he likes to hang out in the EDZ and explore the forests cuz he likes to hike and he loves being free (ya know cuz he used to be a slave) he likes to do really anything outside, hike, fish, swim. As long as there aren’t any other guardians that might kill him

hes really good friend with the guardian (I know some of you crow haters won’t be friends with him but it’s real they are at least kinda friends but it’s your guardian so-) anyways the guardian and him would hang out pretty often, either the guardian teaching him some tricks or them doing some missions. He admires the guardian cuz the guardian is like the second person to ever support him (glint is the first obvi) anyways he would just copy what the guardian does when he sees them do tricks in combat.

he mostly just asks yes or no questions when he’s having a conversation with the guardian so the guardian can just nod or shake their head (cuz they are mostly selectively mute) sometimes when it’s a serious question the guardian might answer or their ghost will.

crow doesn’t mind the guardian is selectively mute, but it’s a little hard to communicate, but they both manage.

glint has to convince him to meet new people cuz crow would think they hate him cuz he used to be Uldren, I would think glint would annoy him till he went to social events or meetings but glint doesn’t have to force him when he wants to go to something like hanging out with friends.

i think he would be pretty good friends with Shaw han, Shaw might not understand his situation and at first might try to kill him but then someone stops Shaw and crow explains, then they like meet and talk about problems they’re having/had cuz they both have trauma (trauma buddies yay)

When he gets to overwhelmed or tired he would go to ikora’s office and just hang out there till he has to leave, I would think ikora is one of his mother figures.

he would mostly try to avoid shaxx cuz he yells a lot and he’s scared that shaxx would just punch him if he saw his face. But then someone maybe ikora or saint would introduce them to each other (they would be VERY cautious) and they would explain crow’s situation then shaxx would try and be mature about it and either throw crow out a window or shake his hand, then after a while they would slightly have a good relationship and shaxx would try not to yell when crow is around cuz crow would jump when he hears shaxx yell.

DESTINY 2: THE CROW ➸ [8/?]

My response to this post is not gonna fit in the comments or tags, so I'm making my own post about it. Apologies in advance for the spam.

Technically speaking, Uldren Sov and Crow are two different characters. Guardians are not the person they were before they were resurrected, regardless of what name they go by (Ana Bray) or what memories they have access to (Himura Shinobu, Crow). This is the stance of [most] in-game characters and Destiny's developers.

("But characters get resurrected all the time!" There is some indication that the Light changes Guardians on a molecular level, so in addition to new personalities, idiosyncrasies, and a general lack of pre-resurrection memories, Guardians also have DNA that's distinct from their past selves. This makes them a "new" person rather than a "renewed" one.)

So even though the poll treats Uldren and Crow as one person, I'm going to answer as if it were two.

Uldren Sov

Personally I despise Uldren and I think he 100% deserves all the hate he gets. He was arrogant, disparaging, and as manipulative as his sister. In the Forsaken DLC and beyond, we [Destiny players] learn why he was the way he was, but I don't empathize with him and I don't think that lore should be used to justify his cruelty.

Crow

Crow got the Zuko treatment imo. He's been pushed around, humbled, has tried to make up for Uldren's actions/mistakes and is also trying to be a better person than Uldren was. But I do understand the hate he gets, as not everyone agrees with how his "redemption arc" is being handled. Personally I think Crow is an absolute cinnamon roll and is a reflection of who Uldren would've been if he'd chosen a better path. He also makes a decent sidekick for The Guardian (which, ironically, was the original concept for his character).

I will not be taking arguments btw. So if you say something like "Ackchyually Uldren was [x] due to [y]," or "Crow shouldn't have nice things bc Cayde-6 😠," I will simply ignore you. You're entitled to your opinions; I'm entitled to mine.

Na'vi names

Hello! I had one bad time looking for names for my na’vi oc, so I compiled names and words to make it easier for other people to find some. This post consists of three sections, names in characters from the movies, games, and comics/graphic novels, words I think could do well as names by vibe (and their proper meanings), and words I smushed together to make new names. I do not speak/learn the na’vi language, so everything here is subject to error. In case you speak/study it, and see a mistake in grammar, please do let me know, especially on the last section. I tried, with limited knowledge, to keep things gramatically correct, and constructive criticism is appreciated. All words used on the last two sections come from the learnnavi.org dictionary.

Proper names in characters/sources

These names are compiled from characters shown on the movies, games, and comics/graphic novels. They were divided by clan, and have markers for which gender the person bearing it is identified as. Some names did not comply with the na’vi language sounds, so I adapted them, and the original form is in parenthesis on the side. I encourage people to just give names regardless of gender because it’s fun. A side note, though, is that some clans, like the li’ona and the ni’awve, have been uncanonized.
