𝐇𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐊𝐈 𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐒: Safiye
Although we do not have information to make a physical description of Safiye, we can share recorded data about her character. Usque wrote that she was very prudent, wise, and very patient. There is no doubt about any of these mentioned features. Especially her patience. If she hadn’t been wise and patient, would she have stood out as the only dominant figure in the Harem among three strong women over time? Upon the deaths of Mihrimah in 1578, Nurbanu in 1583 and İsmihan in 1585, Safiye would become the real owner of the Harem and be more active in state affairs than before. As Uluçay claimed, it is clear that after the death of all other female rivals in the dynasty, especially after 1585, Safiye was not jealous of her husband Murad and left him to the world of pleasures. As a woman in love with power itself, she would soon succeed in establishing herself in the state. — Özlem Kumrular, Haremde Taht Kuranlar: Nurbanu ve Safiye Sultan
