If I could give sewing advice at all, it would be to finish your seams in unlined projects. It makes it so much better I promise

Just started Witch Hat Atelier purely for the illustrations and outfits. Boy, I am not disappointed! Everything is beautifully illustrated, and the aesthetic is wonderful.
I’m super obsessed with this…crisscrossing? There has to be a proper term for it. I feel like I’ve seen it in quilts before. But the strips of fabric weaving into each other along the yoke. I’d love to incorporate this into a look at some point t (or just make a full cosplay)

Mending Monday!
Well. Not necessarily a mend…and it’s Tuesday now but I did it on Monday…anyways!
This is a failed Christmas gift. The pattern is from SeamWork and it’s a half zip. My machine wasn’t working and Sherpa is hard to work with so the seams are weak. I choose not to give this one away and it went un finished until now.
The pattern called for a 5/8th hem but I chose to do an elastic cuff instead. I also sewed down the collar.
It’s like wearing a warm hug, but the fabric attracts and holds onto so much (animal hair, small scraps of fabric, sewing thread) that it’s hard to wear out. I enjoy wearing it inside though 😊

“Never, ever confuse what happens on a runway with fashion. A runway is spectacle. It’s only fashion when a woman puts it on. Being well dressed hasn’t much to do with having good clothes. It’s a question of good balance and good common sense.”
