The Lord in the Upper Hill is said to be Swyambhu i.e self-manifested. There are two popular legends for the derivation of the word Ahobilam. It is said that the Devas while witnessing the ferocious form of the Lord and the terrific aspect he took on in order to tear to pieces Hiranyakasyapa sang in his praise
‘Narasimha Paramam Devam Aho Balam Aho Balam’
and hence the name.
Another version is that because of the great cave, the Ahobila, where Garuda worshipped and realised the Lord. The place itself is come to be called Ahobila.
This Temple is the only place where all the nine forms of the Lord Narasimha Swamy are worshipped. It is said that the entire Nalmalla Hills from Kurnool to Chittoor is a personification of Lord Adisesha himself whose tail end is Srisailam, whose middle is Ahobilam and whose head is Tirupati.
There are inscriptions which refer to Vikramaditya of the Western Chalukyan Kings of Kalyan (1076 AD – 1106 AD) worshipped the main deity of this temple. King Krishna Deva Raya has also visited this shrine on his return from the conquest of Kalinga and made offerings to the deity.

The Ellora caves of Aurangabad, Maharashtra, constructed in 6th – 8th century the Ellora caves totally shows about 34 rock cut caves. The caves are famous for the Hindu, Buddhists and for Jain temples. But the cave 16 known as the Kaisala temple is the most famous cave of Ellora. The Ellora cave is famous for the historic architect essence.
Cave 1: Houses some of the best – preserved wall painting here, which include two impressive Bodhisattva, Padmapani and Avalokiteshvara.
Cave : 6, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 21, 29, 30, 30A, 31, 32, 33, 34 must to see . Incriptions were found at cave 15, 21, 31.

Bhadrachalam History
This temple is dedicated to Lord Rama which is located on the banks of the River Godavari.
This temple was built by the ardent devotee Tahsildar Kancharla Gopanna in the 17th century.
As per the folklore, Lord Rama long after he had shed his mortal coils manifested himself to
save his devotee Bhadra Maharshi whom he promised Moksha for his penance. Hence the village
called after Bhadra as Bhadragiri or Bhadrachalam. Sree Rama appeared in the dreams of his
devotee Pokala Dammakka and revealed his whereabouts in Bhadragiri As instructed she recovered
the Idols from an anthill and built the temple with bamboo sticks. It was mentioned in Puranas
that Rama along with His consort Sita and brother Lakshman stayed here for some time during their
Vanavasam. The place where they stayed is marked as Parnashala which can be reached by bus and is
39 km from the temple.
