It's actually crazy talking to friends and relatives about what's going on because very few of them know that this is a retaliatory attack. I keep seeing people online call the attack unprovoked too.
So those who don't know, on April 1st Israeli warplanes bombed Iran's consulate in Damascus. The attack killed 7 of Iran’s military advisers including 3 senior commanders.
Reuters reporters at the site in the Mezzeh district of Damascus saw emergency workers clambering atop rubble of a destroyed building inside the diplomatic compound, adjacent to the main Iranian embassy building. Emergency vehicles were parked outside. An Iranian flag hung from a pole by the debris.
Iran's ambassador to Syria said the strike hit a consular building in the embassy compound and that his residence was on the top two floors. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said in a statement that seven Iranian military advisers died in the strike including Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior commander in its Quds Force, which is an elite foreign espionage and paramilitary arm.
This attack on the embassy is against international law. Embassies are protected sites. But instead of condemning the attack and putting pressure on Israel, the US has spent the past week and a half calling West Asian countries to put pressure on Iran, with Biden going as far as to warn Iran not to attack Israel and saying that his support for Israel is 'iron clad'.
The West, the UN, and UN Security Council have largely failed to condemn the attack which means Iran has no choice but to retaliate with force in order to prevent future attacks. Otherwise, the country will look vulnerable and weak, especially to the Israeli occupation government which has spent months bombing neighbouring countries like Syria and Lebanon

Joe Biden would rather risk full on war than stop genocide.

The best way to keep the fash off your blog isn't having a dni banner or whatever you just have to bang pots and pans together every so often like "I love trans women and jewish people" and they scuttle away like roaches when you turn the lights on

Women and girls that are in Gaza are using tent scraps as period products. Tent scraps.
not only do they not have access to clean water, clean bathroom or any bathroom at this point . not only do they not have proper living corders, they do not have access to period products. using tent scraps as period products, same as many things they need to use as compensation for things they need, is causing infections.
and as there is no medical supplies available in Gaza, these women, these LITTLE GIRLS that have just started their periods are dying from these infections.
all while this is happening, you AND me have access to all those things. unlimited access.
the worst thing you can do right now is being silent. shame on all you people who have no real human compassion, nor decency who can’t even boycott, or share valuable information and news about what is currently going on.
people are dying as we live in peace, feeling “unaffected” by the situation.
children are dying as we stay silent.
speak up for Palestine. do not keep your eyes away from Palestine.
Wake up.

the inflection is exactly the same. I have been thinking about this for an hour. was this on purpose or is this just how people are naturally compelled to say these words in this order (via @biderverse on X/Twitter)

Been doing lots of research on Drow and the influence of Lolth to get a better impression on their concept in DnD, and to try and nail down what I find so fascinating about them considering I find the idea of "biologically Evil or Good fantasy races" so dull usually. And this random comment on one lore video caught my eye.
Tumblr media
I just thought this was really insightful: like given DnD's history of being written from a largely evangelical Christian perspective (ie Gygax) it's not surprising how this idea of being broken is conflated with things like Original Sin, leading to this bizarre notion of inherent evil. When instead it can mean acknowledging and working through trauma that was experienced through no fault of your own, and for which healing is still possible.
Anyway, very inspiring reading as I put together my next character: a drow trans girl who's a swordsinger of Eilistraee who just wants the cycles of violence to stop.
[Image ID] youtube comment by MythosTheSophist. Here's something to remember about Drow: Elves, like Humans, are born broken. An Elf was only complete at the dawn of time, when it was free and perfect with Corelon. Drow are still Elves, but Lolth took their pieces and twisted them. There was a time, before the Crown Wars when they were just lost, now they are banished to the deepest darkness of the world, having lost their connection to the light and to the weave. In a way, the surface Elves are not wrong comparing the Drow to Humans. A surface Elf will claim it was born perfect, but a Human or a Drow will admit on being broken and some will even try to put themselves back together. That's why Eilistraee is a Good Goddess, because she promises: I will put you back together. [/Image ID]

As someone who has been living with severe suicidal ideation my entire life I wanna tell you all something, you don’t have to stay alive for yourself. People will say it’s a bad idea to live for external things because they’re temporary, and it’s true living for yourself is ideal but if you’re not to that point yet that’s ok too.
I’ve lived for my dog for the past 4 years, before that I lived for my snakes, before that I lived for my cat. You can live for whatever needs you and whatever matters to you. Live for your best friend, live for your plants, live for your pets, live for your animal crossing town. Live for whatever keeps you alive and the day will come when you can live for yourself.

i just remembered a story my first plug told me. she's butch and gets mistaken for a man a lot. one time she was walking home when a guy pulled a knife on her and asked for everything in her pockets. panicking, she said "ok" and the guy hearing her voice was like "oh shit, are you a girl?" and she was like "yeah" and he put the knife away and said something like "sorry. i can't do this to a woman" and left. feminist ally.
