If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid of making mistakes?

Personally speaking, I think it's the disappointment that we're afraid of. We're scared of falling into error and be judged by people, even by ourselves unconsciously. It's the outcome that terrifies us; sometimes the cost is high and worse, we feel like we have paid for more than we should.
