narcissists in positions of guidance are extremely dangerous. they want to be better than you, always, so they will deliberately sabotage you and try to goad you into making mistakes.

the same authorities that consider narcissism a mental illness consider pedophilia a mental illness. no one is lobbing accusations of eugenics at people who say "kill all pedophiles" and it is actually one of the least controversial things you can say as a human being. I wonder why that is. maybe it is because pedophiles are dangerous abusive predators
"oh well pedophilia shouldn't be in the dsm" if that's on the table then I have some opinions on some other things we should remove as well. because as I've said before, people treat the dsm as if it is gospel, the word of fucking god. as if it directly maps onto who is oppressed in society and who isn't.

I really respect Dr. Ramani and her words have helped me immensely to understand what I go through in life as a victim of narcissistic abuse. I trust her as an authority figure on this topic completely. However, I don't know how to feel about Myth #10. It's not as if I think she's being untruthful about the actions she's describing... like yeah, that is a picture perfect description of what a narcissist would do. Would you really describe that as remorse, though? I wouldn't.
I still recommend subscribing to her channel. Her and Dr. Les Carter's channels have been lights in the dark for me.

It's called "emotional vampiricism", but I would rather be bitten by a fucking vampire than spend time with a narcissist for one god damn second.

It's like you fucking people think the DSM-5 is a sacred text handed down by god that absolutely cannot be questioned under any circumstance. If it's put in there, then clearly they must be an underprivileged group in society, regardless of if that actually reflects obvious observable reality.

No shit, anyone can be abusive. It's called narcissistic abuse because the abuse is narcissistic, it stems from the perpetrators grandiosity and entitlement. It is different from abuse perpetrated by a non narcissistic person, and anyone who has gone through that kind of abuse will need resources specifically for that abuse. And I'll demonize people who abuse others as much as I fucking want to, thank you. I have been abused by people who aren't narcissists before, so no, I'm not just calling every bad person I've ever met a narcissist.
I think everyone who calls the term "narcissistic abuse" ableist should be forced to explain how the hell narcissism disables a person, and what disability even means. This is the vector through which we should interrogate these people and their beliefs. In what world is someone disabled for how they abuse a human being? How does being evil make someone disabled, especially when this word describes the most successful and powerful people in our society? We need to challenge the idea that these people belong to a protected class, it is the fundamental building block of their abuse apologia. Narcissists are not materially disadvantaged, nor are they socially disadvantaged. Narcissists' ability to charm other people through manipulation is a notable aspect of the abuse.
It is also worth saying that you could prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that these people are neurologically different from other people and it wouldn't actually mean anything, unless it could be proven that real, actual discrimination against narcissists exists in society.

Yeah dude the term minority absolutely isn't an incredibly racialized term that is almost exclusively used in discussions of race. Sure. Like the whole point of you saying that wasn't "gotcha! this is exactly like racist ideology."

We talk about neurotype, and mental health, through the language of typicality. "Neurotypicals" are the privileged, "default" neurotype. So if a neurotype describes the grand majority of people in your society, categorically, they cannot be neurodivergent. If you don't think the majority of a society can be narcissistic, you also cannot believe in the concept of "neurotypicals" either.

Hold onto that thought buddy, you are on the verge of a fucking epiphany. You are so close. It's almost as if narcissistic abuse is an epidemic in a culture of narcissists, where narcissistic behavior is valorized.
If you make a list of every abusive pattern that gets labeled as "narcissistic", you'll often describe:
every single police officer (they're literally trained to have those patterns so it's impossible to be a police officer and not have those patterns)
every single boss and landlord (those patterns are encouraged, and even the "nice" ones would gladly have those patterns if shit hit the fan)
authoritarian parents, who openly brag about how much they abuse their children without any fear of even the slightest consequences
teachers who label neurodivergent children as "smart but lazy"
any authority figure who believes "insubordination" or "disobedience" should be punished
"fuck your feelings" Trump supporters
anyone who makes fun of others for being "triggered"
anyone who believes in "the world owes you nothing"
anyone who opposes student loan forgiveness because they paid theirs already
anyone who believes it's possible to deserve to be raped
anyone who believes it's possible to deserve to be homeless
anyone who believes abuse of prisoners is okay because they're "criminals"
anyone who believes it's possible to "get over" slavery
anyone who wants to erase the history of racism
anyone who assumes that they're helping a disabled person without ever putting any effort into figuring out if it's actually helpful
and many more examples of bigotry against women, children, LGBT people, people of color, poor people, disabled people, etc that happen all the fucking time
That's an astronomically large number of people to armchair diagnose with narcissism. It's much more likely that mentally sane people have been abusive since forever and labeling abuse as "narcissistic" is scapegoating.
