Day 3 "sacrifice and Selfishness"

"Having a connection with a strong yokai, allows you to maintain a strong power. So if you join the matoba clan, I can protect you. As long as I, the clans master, have my right eye targeted by a great yokai." Matoba seiji

I feel like this prompt perfectly sums up Matoba Seiji, he's selfish in that he does whatever it takes to try and maintain his clan and get power, even using and manipulating others, but yet there's a certain sacrifice to it aswell,  he has the burden of being attacked and injured by the yokai that's trying to steal his eye, as well as the pressure to not let the clan fall.

I didn't like Matoba at first, and I admit he still rubs me the wrong way often, but after reading more of the manga, he feels more human to me. He's an interesting character too, and he's surprisingly young, I can't imagine being in his situation when I'm that age. Nowadays, I enjoy his chapters and hope to learn more about him going forward too😁.
