"met a demon" - he used to be in Hell. A demon was posing as an "angel." (Ethics ProfessorTM died and came back to life before this season.)
Janet is basically a walking talking Alexa. He met her in Hell (when he thought it was Heaven.)
Because of the fucked up system to get into Heaven in the show, now that he knows Heaven exists, any 'good' thing he does will be percieved as doing good solely to get into heaven. Which means it is, in fact, not good. And therefore he's going to hell.
me, posting stuff for over 7 different fandoms at random all on the same blog:

Mike knew damn well that he wasn't the only one having nightmares. As close together as they slept at night, it was impossible not to feel how Harvey would start awake with a single gasp and lie there, breathing hard for a long moment, occassionally dragging his fingers through Mike's hair, trying to calm himself down.
He was also aware of the ritual that would come after- how Harvey would gently shift Mike onto his side, and adjust the pillows around him so that he wouldn't wake up uncomfortable and the blankets so he wouldn't wake up cold. Then he'd get out of bed, down what was left of his water and then get up to refill his glass before he double and tripple checked that every door in the apartment was locked. Only then would Harvey allow himself to lay back down, wrapping himself as tightly around Mike as possible reguardless of what the consequences would be for his back in the morning.
It was getting less and less unusual for Mike to wake up practically pinned to the mattress with Harvey's body curled defensively over him.

I think one of the best fics I have ever read refers to Harvey as 'sweetly possessive' and I think that's accurate, even with all of the probabmatic implications that come along with it. If you're one of only the handful of people he lets in- Mike being the prime example- you can touch his stuff, since he knows you'll be careful. You can ask him for things. He'll look after you financially and physically, and he'll do his best emotionally even though he's not great in that department. He can't stand it when anyone or anything of his is hurt or under threat. He can't stop himself from stepping in, from trying to stop it. He doesn't mean to be controlling, but sometimes it can come off that way if the person he's devoted to doesn't want him to react that way or want him to take control of the situation.

To recognize TERFs, anti’s, fash, incels and other internet shitstains, one pattern you need to recognize is this:
They take some normal human behavior
Explain it in the darkest, most bad faith way possible
And then ignore any other, often more realistic, explanation.
A simple example:
A lot of adults watch TV shows about high school relationship drama.
Dark bad faith take: all these adults are obsessing over teenager sex lives because they want to fuck teenagers.
More realistic explanation: a lot of adults have memories of their own high school relationship drama that they like to relive, process, etc through media.
Another realistic explanation: People can empathize with the stories of hobbits, dragons, defense lawyers, plucky detectives, space rebels, talking dogs and teenagers in high school without always having a desire to fuck the characters involved. It is possible to just enjoy a story as a story without it fulfilling some emotional of sexual need.
Like, when you take a tiny step back, it becomes clear that the jump from ‘adults watch high school dramas’ to ‘they all want to fuck teenagers’ is absolute moon logic.
This logic only works if you assume the absolute worst possible things about the group you’re talking about. This logic works if the only lens you can see a group through is ‘predator’ and you do not acknowledge that they are completely humans who can just do non-predatory things like ‘enjoying stories’.
And assuming the absolute worst possible things about a specific group while denying their complexity and humanity… well, that is absolutely key to what TERFs, anti’s, fashos, incels, etc. do.

I'm sorry, I have to talk about spn episode 3x10 Dream a Little Dream of Me. It contains THE Dean scene. The first time he admits to himself aloud that John was a shit father who abused him and that he deserves something for himself (which in the context of this season is simply staying alive, nothing eccentric). The first time he metaphorically kills himself by slaughtering a monster/villain taking his appearance (a thing he'll do again, saying that it feels good). The first time he verbally addresses the fact that he's suicidal, and he wants to break out of it.
And after two seasons and a half of him worshipping John and bottling up, it's such a relief.
Also, are we gonna talk about how the abusive father in this episode is played by an actor who looks a lot like John Winchester, is dressed somewhat like him, and abused his son in a way that made him unable to rest properly for 15 years? Or is the parallel obvious enough to everyone?

I can't believe I'm going to say this (and does do through gritted teeth), but there are certain nuances to John-fucking-Winchester.
I'm aware that I haven't seen a ton of the show, and that means that there is much I haven't seen of this man, but as with most human beings, he's not all one thing or another.
So yes, John Winchester checked up on his son without him knowing while he was at college (1x08). Yes he used to talk about Sam getting into college to people he met (1x04) in a way that seemed proud.
But he still abused his kids.
And that's what it's always gonna come down to. So yes, John-fucking-Winchester was not an 100 percent evil, twisted man. But he was an abuser. And that's all I really need to know about him

I think John hated Dean. I think he looked at him and saw Mary and with that the life he would never have. He saw a constant reminder of what he lost. Dean tethered John to Mary's death in a way that Sam couldn't because of his age. I think John hated the idea of having to look after his kids after Mary died. That he wanted nothing more than to leave everything behind and lose himself in the pursuit of his revenge. The little boy he raised with his wife simply didn't fit in this life any longer. With all the anger and grief he was feeling, looking after two kids simply wasn't a priority anymore. I think Dean resembling Mary too much probably caused John to further push him into the role of a caretaker for Sam but also for himself. He wanted a Mother for his children and a wife to take care of him. He looked at Dean and saw his failure to protect the woman he loved. The wasted potential of a future where he should have saved Mary. So he made sure to turn him into a lethal weapon. A soldier. A dog on a leash. Something that would never fail again. Just a tool to be used and not a child to be raised.

i always thought it was more a "dean was used to being quiet/not talking back to authority figures cause of john" kinda thing and sammy was always the one to talk back and lie so he's more comfortable with the authority figures whereas sammy was the kid so he doesn't do as well with the kids cause he's never been a parent
Anyone else notice that especially in the earlier seasons(1-3 specifically for this post), Sam is usually the one talking to the witnesses/authority figures. Doesn’t matter if Dean started the conversation/interrogation, Sam near always finishes them.
Not only that, but officers and others tend to direct their questions more to Sam than Dean. The question is why? In the early seasons like 1-3, Dean may be shorter, but Sam is still noticeably younger than his brother. Is there something about Sam that people trust him to be more mature or what?
On the opposite note, you will rarely see Sam talking to any kid, his area lying more with the teens and young adults. Dean is always talking to the kids, he values their opinions and wants them to feel safe no matter what. This is probably from raising Sam, but it’s also very him. (One example is Lucas in 1x03 Dead in the Water, another is Michael in 1x18 Something Wicked, and again with Ben in 3x02 The Kids Are All Right)
Now, I’m very much onboard with the “both Winchester brothers are autistic” and “ADHDean”, but my question is still, why would the authorities and older suspects talk to Sam instead of Dean? Is it because Sam is so good at masking? Is it because Dean is starting to let his childish side out more now that John isn’t there? Maybe it’s because due to Dean having been selectively mute, Sam had to speak for the both of them growing up and the habit stuck? Could it be because even though both boys are good looking, Sam is more traditionally handsome while Dean is a pretty face? Is there really an answer?

all this talk about protective dean winchester but i can never stop thinking about protective sam. sam at nine, thirteen, fifteen, always too young and too late to help his brother from falling further into the traps of the way their father thinks. sam at seven already knowing their father sucks when eleven year old dean worships the ground he works on, sort of because thirteen year old dean workshops the ground he walks on. sam at ten looking at the way john treats fourteen year old dean, the blame and the pressure he puts on his shoulders, the emotional incest and dean’s dogged devotion and thinking that’s fucked up and being so so resistant to any kindness towards john winchester because of that. sam at fourteen slowly realising the way his father’s fucked his brother up irreparably and how he can’t help and he doesn’t know what to do and how can he keep being part of this. sam at sixteen trying to get dean out, too, but dean just gets angry at the prospect of sam even wanting to leave, is insistent he’s not in a situation he wants to get out of. sam at eighteen leaving and feeling like he’s dooming his brother and hating himself for it.
i don’t know how people are watching the show if they don’t see this as backed by canon, because the pure anger in sam’s tone when he talks so much about their dad in s1 isn’t just about the way he treated sam, it’s also about the way he treated dean. he always talks about the way he raised us, not just the way he raised sam. theres vicious hatred there that only comes from seeing the damage someone who’s meant to protect someone you love does to them…….

Dean is a trans man and the reason he was so scared to be seen as feminine was one day John said “if you’re gonna be a man, you’re gonna do it right. No more of that girly shit” so Dean tucked away whatever that didn’t fit into his fathers idea of a man, only letting them out after he’d died. It took a very long time, but eventually Dean realized that men can enjoy doing things seem as feminine without it feeling like he was faking who he is.
That’s it. That’s the post.
