The lesbian and disability activist Elaine Kolb was talking about her experience of alienation and ableism and disabiliphobia in the lesbian community, and how she never felt like she fit in or was really accepted by other lesbians. She felt like she was “too weird for the other lesbians” and I was just crying the whole time

The lesbian event was amazing like absolutely inspiring and deeply emotional. I cried SOOOO much because I am PMSing very very very much today. I brought up the need to reach lesbians in places like nursing homes and assisted living facilities, to hear and more importantly record their stories. To get lesbian herstory from women who are facility bound. I’m so excited to do this I cannot wait to reach these women who are so isolated and bring the community to them and bring them to the community in a way.

I also want to like more female folk punk but a lot of them do this very twee persona and voice like it feels like they’re trying to be idk cutesy or overly folksy? Less grit than a lot of male folk punk singers? I don’t like this though lol I want to listen to more women
