A LIFE ライフ Challenge Answer #13

Long time no see fellow LIFE fans of Tumblr... It's me the starter of LIFE ライフ 13 questions challenge here. I know it's been already over 2 years since I posted this thingy and shamefully I must admit that I got really lazy and answered just one of the questions. I could go on for a kilometer list for reasons as in why I did not finish what I started... Final exams in high school then entrance exams to university and once in there the studies were much more difficult than I imagined.

But yeah without further ado and blabbering I decided to give a little shout out to this fandom's offerings in the creativity field. Although we unfortunately don't a have a huge community actively dicussing each other of this show's/ manga's topics, I have still mangaed to meet and find surprisingly many nice and talented people who share the same love LIFE <3 So as you may have guessed it, I shall give my long reply to question number 13 to celebrate the miracle of LIFE 2 sequel's release that was never supposed to happen! I'm still so excited and happy that my most favorite work of art got a continuation T-T 13.Favorite fan work? (video, art, fanfic?) + do you have any fan works to share with the other fans? First of all it's very hard to pick merely just one amazing piece of inspiration that has bloomed due to this show's existence. I personally am relatively active on youtube and trying to monthly look for new videos about LIFE and it's characters. I even made a specially dedicated playlist to gather up almost every single fan made music video that there is. Please guys, check it out below from the link! You wouldn't believe that there actually over A HUNDRED of singular works added there! And even during recent times I've managed to find some new little videos popping up. I think they would deserve so much more attention and appreciation for their creations than they've got. 1. HEAVENFORBiiD - This editor might not be big on blasting effects with Vegas but I can assure you she has a great strength in mixing up clips and creating whole new crossover-ish stories with LIFE's characters. She may use two seemingly random characters and pair them up in a crack shipping video, but man does she make it look very believable! She is very creative in inventing original stories even if the given character in following example,Tomonori, has only like a couple of minutes of screentime in the entire drama! 2. natzoey1 Here comes an editor with a style that is tiny bit rough on the edges but still manages to follow the song lyrics and mood greatly. And admit it guys, how many of you did NOT see that spesific LIFE mv made back 2009 which included tA.T.u's most phenomenal song? And even after that dozens of t.A.T.U themed LIFE videos have been made. Even if this show includes little of not no romance they just go so well with Ayumu/Hatori and sometimes with other characters. 3.naon465 - All right guys this is no longer a suggestion but a DEMAND go subcribe to this person right now if you even slightly enjoy femslash / asian drama music video stuff because this person hyper talented with each video becoming better and better. Unfortunately at least, in public, she does not have many recent videos made about this show but that still does not mean her creations from 2011-2014 are not great! She excels especially nowadays with fast-paced editing and making it look dramatic and dark. And she only has +200 subs... How? Kinda like how you just explained ^^’ It’s a valid point that Manami has a very twisted mentality, which leads Manami treating her friends nicely one time and the other time like crap if she feels offended and insecure about what others think of her. I think she has a little bit of syndrome called “borderline personality disorder”.

She is also very manipulative due to possible childhood problems. Her parents were absent of her life often, because of their busy work, so she had to learn skills on how to gain attention from other people around her(like the household maids, other children, teachers) to cover her inner loneliness. She had to learn these questionable means of keeping herself surrounded by friends all the time because back at home there was no one to spend some fun time with or no one truly interested in listening to her worries. Having shallow and forced friendships to Manami is better than no friendships at all.

On the other hand, Midori is very unlike most of the people who hang with Manami just for the popularity, like Misa and Rie for example. Midori genuinely is concerned about Manami’s well being and cares about her best friend. Manami, though, still does not know (from possible previous experience) how to deal with her friends. She always has the underlying fear that everyone leaves her completely alone. She can sense that many people don’t really like her and it hurts her a lot. She wants admiration and attention.

It’s true that Manami’s relationship with anybody would be unhealthy because of her issues I mentioned above. I could see that Manami, as a little abusive persona, may could like Ayumu BUT on Ayumu’s side it wouldn’t make sense. Manami psychologically tried to destroy her. Manami almost drove Ayumu to suicide. Manami sent a gang to rape Ayumu and they also tried to kill her and her friend Hatori. Ayumu knows that Manami was full aware of all of this. Manami did not show any remorse for what she did to Ayumu, so her only logical reaction to this would be absolute hate for Manami.

Maybe Ayumu can be so mature to not to accept the same treatment she had to go through to be done for anyone. Even for Manami. But this does not mean that she forgave Manami in any sort of way. If there was a person who tried to murder you (even indirectly) and psychologically and physically tortured you and YET you’d still fall in love with them, you should be in a mental hospital in therapy. Ayumu would be in total Stockholm syndrome for liking Manami. Saying Ayumu likes Manami is like stating that Ayumu is also mentally sick, as far as my opinion is concerned. >< You can disagree with me, this is just my opinion on this particular pairing.

But as for Midori though, her super idolization of Manami could easily be interpreted also as a secret crush for Manami without changing her personality at all. Manami had even helped Midori in the past with bullying according to Midori herself. Manami has not done any significant psychological torture to Midori, nothing to the extent with Ayumu. (before LIFE’s episode 12) Midori had so much valued and invested in the friendship with Manami so it was like a knife to her heart hearing that Manami did not care about her the same way.

Nevertheless I must admit that most logically Madori pairing could work as a one sided love . About a girl falling for her long time friend who can never answer back to her feelings. Liking a girl who is well known to be a full on hetero. Instead of sulking in self-pity Midori would aim at being the best support to Manami she can be with her unconditional care. Manami would have taken this for granted and can’t properly appreciate one of the only true friends she has. Maybe after the bathroom fighting scene with Ayumu when she watches her photobook, she realizes what she has lost. A true friend who loved her for what she was and who was not just follow her to gain something.

I don’t know XD Here were just some of my far-fetched thoughts on these two ships. Again I’m saying that I accept differentiating opinions ^^ Let people ship what they want! I just happen to find possibility of even imagining Midori and Manami more realistic. Midori wouldn’t become a disorder person if she canonically did like Manami that way.

I think I just died of happiness to see another Midori x Manami shipper out there once in a while T-T <3 Madori shippers have some small “community” in youtube but elsewhere this pairing get little to know recognition or love. Geez and I find it 1000x healthier and more realistic than ManAyu. Manami can be understandably shipped to many characters but Ayumu loving her would be full on Stockholm Syndrome. :,)

Thank you for this great reply post! Lovely to see another AyuMiki shipper <3 Forever my second OTP from LIFE *-* That pairing makes just much more sense than any other Ayumu pairing in my opinion, nothing compares to the bond those two have. And I still can't believe that somebody actually likes that sick old MV made by me almost 3 years ago, but I'm truly glad for this ^o^
