♘: Our muses put up a Christmas tree and decorate it. (Bennett)

“I--tell me you did not get a real tree, Barnes.” Nic dropped her pen on the kitchen table as the suite was now filled with the scent of Pine and...sap. It had been a long time since Nic had a real, live Christmas tree and you could nearly knock her over with a feather as she watched this unfold in front of her. Allicin trotted around the both of them, tail wagging as fast as a propeller as she was ready to inspect the new addition to the living room. A few moments passed and the blonde broke into a smile--a genuine, child-like smile--and she slipped from her seat to her bedroom, pulling out a small box of ornaments that hid under her bed. They were pretty common ornaments--except the fact that they were her brothers and therefore uncommon in the blonde’s mind. She’d never used them--Christmas was hard for her in general, let alone using Liam’s ornaments that she’d seen numerous times on his own tree. But it felt like a nudge from him, physically--like this tree (and perhaps the person who’d she’d decorate it with) was worth these ornaments...these memories.  “Here--I mean, I’m sure you also have ornaments, but the tree feels like it could fit both?” She suggested, her cheeks slightly flushed and her voice is softer. There were few things that Nicolette Rogers felt actually bashful on--but this was one of them. Her mind went to the last time she’d decorated a tree, with Beau, and instantly she bit her lip. Maybe this wasn’t a great idea--everyone knew how well that had gone. Well, maybe not everyone--in fact, she wasn’t sure a lot of people knew. But she did and the fear of it ending up exactly the same way made Nic very apprehensive. 

...And yet, looking over at Bennett, who’d lugged the damn thing up to the room in the first place, and the way it fit pretty perfectly in their living room made Nic want to decorate the tree. Even if the rest of whatever she felt was...up in the air, she knew that she needed to decorate this tree, with Bennett--and she wouldn’t regret it. Everything else might be out of her control, but this was decidedly in it--and she needed to participate. “Ok, here’s my only request: Can I put the star on the tree?” Could she reach the star? No. Hell no. But she’d pull a Buddy the Elf if she had to. “Whadd’ya say, South Carolina?” She grinned, shooting him a wink.  ( @bennettbarnes )

🎥 : What are your muse’s favourite Christmas movies?

“Christmas movies are cheesy and sappy--” Nic cut herself off with a cough, reminding herself that her bitter resentment of the season was her problem, not anyone elses. And it didn’t give her permission of make other’s experiences less fun. “I’ve never really been the biggest fan of traditional Christmas movies, but I will tell you that I consider Die Hard to be a Christmas movie, and I like that one a lot. Iron Man 3 is set during Christmas so that counts too--and I’m not taking opinions on that. Although I have always loved A Year Without A Santa Clause. Heat and Snow Miser are legit the best part of the Rankin/Bass specials and no one can tell me otherwise.”

Nic closed her eyes, thankful the male on the other end of the line could not see her expression. Furrowed brows and a clench jaw were usual hallmarks of the blonde, but lately her expression had become more withered, less standoffish and more just...exhausted. Like every moment was a battle to keep herself going. Which, in Nic’s estimation, sounded dramatic but there wasn’t really a better way to express exactly how she felt. “Shawn, I’m fine.” She replied, trying to sound as if she actually was fine. As if she hadn’t spent the whole night staring at her ceiling to avoid the nightmares that came on their own timeline. “I’m totally fine--everything’s great. You don’t need to worry about me, I’ve got it all under control.” Perhaps the last part of her sentence came our sharper than she had intended and she bit her lip. Nic knew what she was doing--her instincts were kicking in and she was pushing people away. A part of her tried to warn her but the words were coming faster than she’d anticipated. “Have I ever proven that I can’t take care of myself? I’ve been doing it long enough, I think I can handle this.” Spoiler Alter: She definitely could not. But she’d die before she let someone else think she was weak. ( @shawnwhitley )

But not like she didn’t mean it--but rather she just...didnt mean for it to come out at that specific time. I think it’d be in a kind of like “wow you’re so stupid but I love you” sort of thing and she’d get really embarrassed for letting it slip for sure.   who would get into a physical altercation over the other ?: I don’t wanna speak for Bennett but I definitely know Nic would. Homegirl is fiesty and damn protective over the people she cares about who insists on purchasing a pet together ( and what kind of pet ) ?: oh I think it’d be Bennett--partly because Nic’s got Allicin, but also because I feel like I can just see him being super excited about getting a pet. And in my head its a dog but I can see a cat too.  who is louder ( in and out of bed ) ?: Nic is definitely loud in both places--but louder? I can’t quite say. My gut tells me Nic, truthfully.  who takes more risks ( in and out of bed ) ?: Ok they are both hella equal on the risk taking out of bed--I feel like its in their nature to be risky. Which then leads me to think they’d also be the same in bed? who would bring up the word ‘daddy’ first ?: I...am not sure we have time to go into that. Nic what is their shared, favourite kink ?: I literally have no clue, sorry to disappoint anyone.  describe their typical kiss: I’d imagine it being playful as its main characteristic. Nic feels less encumbered around him, so I imagine it’d be something that conveyed happiness and playfulness.  how my muse shows their love for your’s: Nic shows her love by doing the things she doesn’t do well or like doing in order to make the other happy--laying her pride down for another. So she’d probably attempt to cook something to show him how much she cares.  their favourite ways to give affection: Teasing--and no, not that kind (though its not entirely out of the question in general). But Nic is very much the sarcastic, bust your chops type of person. So if she takes the time to roast you, she definitely cares about you.  who is more dominate ?: I think it probably swtiches, depending on the day--but Nic can be. She...has her own control freak tendencies at times. who sings in the shower ?: Nic sure does--and Bennett found that out day one. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Bennett also sang in the shower--but not sure on that one. who washes the other’s hair in the shower ?: I think it’d be hilarious to imagine Nic having her hair washed by Bennett so let’s say that.  who initiates shower sex despite being in a rush ?: Bennett, in my estimation--but I could be wrong!
