“You’re…back.” She says again, letting out another shaky breath. “I can’t - I can’t believe it.” She tucks a stray strand of hair behind her ear, her eyes never leaving his once. They’re both crying now. She can’t even begin to imagine how he’s feeling or what he’s going through. He had never left her, even in her darkest moments. Who would she be if she were to leave him? And that’s exactly what she tells him the moment he tell’s her, she doesn’t have to stay. “Don’t have to stay?” She asks, watching him. “Stefan, of course I do. You never left me. Even when I know that I deserved nothing less, you were still there for me. Who would I be if I just left you?” She asks, stepping towards him, gently and carefully caressing his face. “Let me be here for you. Please.”

     He is back. That much is obvious from the tears in his eyes and the searing pain in his chest every time he thinks about just how horrible he had been to her. He watches her every movement, slightly worried that she would turn and walk out the door at any moment. He frowns at her as she begins explaining why it is that she does have to stay and he swallows hard. He had never left her, this was true, but she had never treated him as harshly as he had her. He sucks in a startled breath when she places her hands to his face and he closes his eyes as he lets himself feel the warmth of her touch. If he knows anything it's that he's going to need her through this. She is the only thing that was worth holding onto, and without her he feared the guilt would overwhelm him. "Elena..." He takes another deep breath to calm himself, hesitating for a moment before opening his eyes and nodding. "I don't want you to go," he admits. "But it would be selfish to ask you to stay with me..." She had made it sound as if she felt obligated to help him, not that she truly wanted to, and he doesn't want to hold her here if she wants to go. For all he knows, she truly has moved on. The thought sends a painful pang to his chest.

         His eyes roam over her as she stands before him and he shakes his head. She still has tears in her eyes and so does he. It was so hard for him to turn his humanity back on, but as he looks at her right now he's incredibly glad that he did. He doesn't think he would have ever been able to live with himself if he'd hurt her anymore than he already had. The feeling of her hands on his skin was still overwhelming to him, and the fact that she was still right here beside him after everything he'd done was certainly taking a toll on him. He presses his lips together hard as fresh tears spring to his eyes and he shakes his head, quickly wrapping his arms around her and burying his face into her neck. "I'm so sorry," he mumbles, his eyes closing as he lets it all in. "I'm so sorry....so sorry," he manages to get out, a sob threatening to escape his lips.

       “I know which is weird given how often I’m wrong.” He replied. A gentle nod followed as he turned to the younger Salvatore brother. “Whatever you want. I’m yours.” He smiled. “I thought you would.

     “You’re right more often than you give yourself credit for," he murmured with a small smile. He didn't like the way that Elias was always down on himself, but Stefan was the same way at times. Another smile formed on his lips as he met the other boy's eyes. "Yeah?" He leaned in and brushed a quick kiss to his lips. "Are you all mine for the night? I could make dinner." He raised a brow at the younger boy. "Among other things..."

     It was in the middle of the day Elena and Jeremy were off in school, she hoped after all she wasn’t one to be that tough on them she was supposed to be the cool aunt. Sipping off from her wine she heard someone open her front door who could it be? sitting up she walked over eyeing the hallway a sigh escaped her lips.         “Stefan, you scared me.             What are you doing here? shouldn’t you be in school?”

     Stefan rocked back on his heels as he waited for Jenna to answer the door. He gave her a small smile when she did, his eyes widening a bit when she mentioned that he was supposed to be at school. High school was only a front for him, but Jenna didn't know that. He had forgotten that she would think it odd that he had decided to come have a conversation with her instead of attending his classes.

     "Oh, right," he muttered, scratching the back of his neck. "My brother needed my help so I stayed out today," he said quickly, hoping Jenna wouldn't disapprove of his behavior. "--Anyway, I actually came because I wanted to talk to you about something."

Her head cants slightly to the side as she watches him, interested yet confused. All the while she’s secretly hoping that she’d gotten through to him. She nearly hesitates as she rests her hand on his shoulder, agonizingly slow she walks past him. It’s taking all of her willpower not to turn back and run to him. Besides, what if he still didn’t care? Then she hears it. The audible gasp from his mouth, his failed attempts at forming a sentence -   words even. She hears the slight crack in his voice when he says don’t. Standing still in her current position, she swallows back the thick lump in her throat, but the tears in her eyes begin to fall down her cheeks. She takes a shaky breath and turns back towards him, moving towards him, so they’re just inches apart. Her eyes are searching his and it’s in this moment she let’s herself lose it. “You’re back.”

     He notices the tears in her eyes and realizes they're both crying, although for entirely different reasons. She's happy he's back, or at least he thinks she is, but it would be impossible for him to feel so much as a glimmer of happiness right now. The guilt he feels is overwhelming. So much so that he wants to back away from her as she moves closer. He had caused her so much pain. He'd bit her, almost run her off the bridge her parents had died on -- not to mention the daily torment and casual indifference that he had used to hurt her. And here she was, very obviously looking hopeful. He didn't understand it. How could she love a MONSTER? All he could do was nod in response to her words, his eyes meeting hers. "Elena..." He could hardly speak her name.

     Turning his gaze away from her feels like the hardest thing he's ever done, but he can't stand to look in her eyes anymore. She is light and happiness and hope and he's all darkness and guilt. The two of them together has never exactly been conventional, but it feels downright impossible right now. He doesn't even deserve to be in the same room as her. "You don't..." He pauses, taking a moment to steady himself before speaking. He wants to at least give her the chance to leave before he breaks down. "I know how much I hurt you. I...you don't have to stay with me right now," he says softly. Not for a second does he expect her to coddle him now. Not after he's spent so much time trying to break her.

She was just finishing cleaning up upstairs - Nik had brought a, uh, friend, over the night before and had made quite the mess. Of course, he couldn’t have been bothered to clean it up himself and had oh so kindly demanded she do it instead. Typical, really, that bastard. Sighing, the blonde wiped the rest of mess off her hands, as she made her way down the stairs, hoping to fetch herself a well deserved glass of scotch.

Rebekah stopped once she arrived at the bottom of the stairwell, as she caught the sound of the front door opening. Wondering who it could be, knowing her brother had left town that morning for some reason or another, Rebekah frowned and made her way through to the entrance of the mansion, in order to either greet the intruder or chase them off. She was only mildly surprised when a familiar face appeared. Her blue eyes narrowed at the sight of him, curious as to why he would be visiting the Mikaelson mansion, especially with Nik currently gone.

“And what are you doing here, Salvatore?” she demanded, grasping the bloodied towel in her hands as she stared expectantly over at him.

     There was a part of Stefan that was very aware that seeking Rebekah out for help wasn't the best idea in the world. He knew there was a very good chance he would regret it later, for one reason or another, but right now she felt like his only option. His brother had turned his humanity off, and Rebekah would be the only person strong enough to subdue him. Of course, Klaus could have done the job, and he probably would have granted his distaste for Damon, but Stefan knew involving Klaus would end badly. No, he needed Rebekah for this one. He could only hope she would be willing to help him. After all, the two had hit a bit of a rough patch in Mystic Falls. There had been a time when they had both been the other's world entire, but those times were long gone.

     He sucked in a quick breath before knocking on the door and then rocking back on his heels as he waited for an answer. A smile lit his face when he saw Rebekah. Best to be as friendly as possible, he thought. "Rebekah." He met her eyes, his hands sliding into the pockets of his jacket as he spoke. "I was just in town...thought I'd pop in and say hello." He knew it wasn't best to spring the idea of her doing him a favor on her before he'd even stepped through the door. He imagined that would register in her mind as him using her, and he didn't want her to think that. He was simply desperate and out of options.
