Nod rolled his eyes.  "Nim hasn't kicked me out yet.  And quit thinking about MK- you're supposed to be finding a slug, remember?"

The slug chuckled a bit, cheering slightly, “Well, I do have that going for me. But I don’t think it’s enough, some days. You up to being my wingman? Not that either of us have wings…”

Nod hesitated slightly, then patted the slug around the shoulder area.  ”Let’s do it.” he said.  Maybe if Mub found a date, he wouldn’t annoy Nod so much.  At least, that was Nod’s reasoning behind helping the slug.

"Wow, it's nice to meet you, your highness." Nod bowed.  "What do you mean not on the surface?" he asked, standing up.  

  “Well, not bees, but Hummingbirds, and other birds too.”  Nod said.  ”I can show you, if you want.”

Nod cocked his head to the side slightly as he watched the movie about the blue ants and the circus bugs.  "This reminds me of the time we tried to have a circus-like party!  Nim was juggling and doing magic tricks, and Ronin, oh my god, Ronin-" Nod stopped as he realized MK's eyes were closed, her breathing steady.  "Oh."  Nod smiled slightly.  He didn't know how to stop the movie, so he carefully put his arms under her, holding her close to his chest as he picked her up gently.  

Walking to her room, he pulled back the blankets with one arm, and laid her down.  She was so beautiful, Nod couldn't help but stroke her hair gently as he gazed at her.  He pulled up the covers, and as he stepped back he noticed a framed picture on her night stand.  It was her, and the professor, and there on their shoulders was him! And Ronin, and Mub!  Nod smiled.  He remembered that day fondly.  

Taking one last look at her, Nod left the room, shutting the door quietly behind him.

"I'm...coming!" Nod panted.  He dove under the water and after a moment or so he finally made it.  "See?" he said.  "You're definitely faster!"

“But you’d definitely win!” Nod whined slightly.  ”You have the tail!  All I got are my legs!”

“Yeah,It’ss weird…but I like it.” Twirling the end of her tail in her hand-accidentally hitting her face with it. Not smart. “Givess a different feeling of flying.” Giggling,fins twitched up.

Nod frowned slightly.  She seemed to me mocking his way of command.  "Not often.  They just like their jobs.  And they're good at them."  Nod folded his arms.  "I'll take care of it.  It's not an issue, Commander."

She twitched a slight smile at his response, still feeling irked about the swap but wondering if maybe they might be able to eventually see eye to eye. With them safely in warp, she fell back to quietly going through reports about various parts of the ship. About an hour in, she frowned and pressed the screen, eyes scrolling across the words. Standing up, she approached Nod, “Captain, I think we might have a slight issue down in engineering.” She said in her most professional voice, “I believe we have at least one person drinking while on duty. Have you had any problems with that before?”

Nod sighed a little, giving a little cocky smile.  ”Yes, I know them.”  Some of the bridge members exchanged looks as Nod pressed a few buttons on his console.  ”This is the Captain to Mister Mub and Mister Ash.  How you two doing down there?”

“O-oh, fine Captain!” Nod heard Mub hiccup.  ”Just setting up for the new Commander party that’ssss all!” 

“Tell ‘em we have cake!” Ash had a slight slur. He must have had more to drink.  Nod rubbed the bridge of his nose.  

“Finn, you have the conn.”

“Aye sir.” Finn replied as Nod stood up.  

“Excuse me everyone.” Nod smiled.

"I don't think anyone else here is a wizard!" Nod said.  "And yeah...but what do you have in mind? Cause that last time you were 'bored' I was nearly eaten!"

Morgan groaned. For such an interesting-looking town, Moonhaven was surprisingly devoid of anything, well, interesting. Sure, it had been nice to explore, and the booze was excellent, but nothing seemed really able to catch her eye.

Except, of course, for one certain Leafman…

It was easy enough to find him with a quick spell; it looked like he’d just finished a training session. To her delight, he was alone; perfect for her purposes.

“Nod, m’boy!” she exclaimed brightly, popping out of her hiding spot in an attempt to startle him.

"Are you kidding-" Nod began to say, but then had to begin to swim.  He was definitely not able to catch up!  She was a mermaid for the seasons' sakes!

She smiled, “Thanks Nod, if I could hug you I would, but I don’t have any legs.” She laughed awkwardly.

Nod's eyes widened and a smile grew on his lips.  Vowing to not wash that cheek tonight, he put his arm around her a little tighter, his heart doing a little dance in his chest.

M.K. moved closer to Nod and cuddled up against his chest. He was so comforting to her, so warm. She smiled and looked up at him, “Thank you for visiting me today, Nod.”

Nod smiled.  "It's alright, Professor." He rubbed his jaw, feeling the stubble that had grown since his last shave.  "How've you been, sir?"  Excellent.  Flattery was the first step in winning over the girl's father.  At least, with Nod's experience.

Nod landed his hummingbird on the windowsill of the old house.  ”Good girl,” he murmured, dismounting.  ”Wish me luck.”  The little green bird chirped in response.  Nod took off his helmet, running a hand through his hair and pushing the window open.  

It seemed quiet, but Nod could hear some rummaging in the other room.  ”Professor?” he called.  Damn.  What if he didn’t have his helmet on?  Or those new ear-buds he had invented a year or so ago?

“Professor?”  Nod hopped down onto the desk.
