The last time I came across an evocative installation made with a pile of discarded books, I was able, by begging and convincing the sculptor, to recover and save an exceptional unobtainable work of which I immediately shared sensational documentary content on the internet...
I mean: cultural content is an aspect of life in the universe with a rather low cost/usability ratio but also a very low degree of reconstructability (i.e. very high degree of unrepeatability and singularity) and therefore to be thrown away with particular caution.

Combing through various online collections, I notice many sitters have chosen to bring along a cherished musical instrument. Flutes and violins appear more often in men’s portraits than in women’s. Why? Were they thought of as more masculine? Music passed the time. How much time did these women pass with their instruments?
