âIT WORRIES ME, that you are leaving.â   right now, brunnhilde has no issues on speaking her mind.   sheâs seen his suffering, up close.   how fate tore him apart, and stitched him back together after the final battle.   in her own, strange way, she is concerned.   âif your heart surrenders, you will need me to hold.â   she holds pride on being the new king of asgard, but her heart and fears are somewhere else.
the last thing thor wanted was to worry her, but they both knew why he couldnât stay. staring down at her now, the god gives a small smile, somewhat satisfied with how they have grown to care for each other since their start. âi have every faith in you and your ability to take care of the asgardians,â large hand reaches up to take hold of her petite one. âas for my heart- it will stay here with all of you,â

âWow, look at you, Mr. Ace Detective!â His sarcasm is undermined by the wheezy breaths that slip past his lips, the shuttering inhale shaking his body despite his every attempt to hide it. Heâs been stuck in No Manâs Land for hours nowâ not high enough to fend off the hoards of lingering spirits that follow his pal around, but still too high to focus on hiding his clear agitation.Â
Bloodshot eyes sweep across the dingy motel room, jittery muscles wincing slightly as some poor bloody bastard begins to scream words that Sam will never hear.Â
âI justâŚIâm sorry, itâs justâŚitâs so loud in here.âÂ
heâs tried his best to keep klaus comfortable, but sam still could never know what it was like to live every day with constant noise all around you. klaus had a right to snap, and sam refused to take it personally. instead, he sits across from his friend, watching the seance twitch and tremble against whatever weeping and wailing filled the room that, to sam, remained deathly quiet. âyou donât have to apologize,â though his words are quiet, theyâre firm. âi know itâs hard for you- hard on you- and iâm still looking for ways to help,â so far, samâs search has come up empty, but he wouldnât stop trying. âi can leave for awhile, if that would help. or we... could go somewhere. uh, somewhere louder then- then the spirits are,â if thatâs possible. âwhatever you need, weâll do,â

eyes are focused on her own reflection, pink gloss shining against her lips as she runs a hand through toussled blonde hair. ( sheâs content to stay like this for hours, honestly, until an unwelcomed anomaly swoops in from the right. ) groaning, sharpay turns, lips pursed in a frown as her brows crease with anger. â â- um, personal space, much? â she starts, stepping back to physically put distance between herself and bender. â arenât you supposed to be out defacing public property somewhere? i rarely see you in school. â a beat, her arms folding. â i like it better that way. â
put john bender on the honor role, ladies and gentleman- he actually showed up today! only to get away from home, of course. sometimes the rebel needed a break from the boozy scent of his parents. catching sharpay ogle herself in the compact mirror, john stepped up to see, simply, how mad he could make her on this fine afternoon. âi dunno if you know this, blondie, but your face hasnât changed since the last time you were were sizing yourself up in that thing,â omnipresent smirk touches lips, the boy leaning against the lockers with gloved hands deep in his pockets. âouch, so harsh. you kiss your brother with that mouth?â shit eating grin ensues. âshouldnât you be paying off your teachers in class right now?â

âNo, canât say I have.â A brow is raised at the other, for the first time in a while since taking on her job, Lilyâs a little stunned. In her line of work, sheâs met witches, trolls, giants, vampyres, demons and ghouls the likes of which belonged in nightmares, but sheâs never seen a walking, talking, six foot tall flaunting rabbit. âWhereâd you come from, if you donât mind me asking?â
âah, well- thatâs a bit ofâa long story,â one he wouldnât get into just yet. âwhat iâll say is that i live in a sortâve paradise deep under austrailia- accent makes sense now, doesnât it?â he gives a wink down to lily. âmâusually travelinâ around with thâguardians, though. weâve got plentyâa work tâdo back home, but evilâs not gonna fight itself,â a small tilt of his head. âsure you know that better than most,â

â nothing proper. â  someone else might run to the police, something klaus has said heâs already done.  hell, they may not have pursued him for answers at all.  now ghanima is involved and with that comes results, even if her methods arenât necessarily legal.  â the police will come, eventually, but you said you had sisters.  are they with olaf now or is there somewhere we need to go to get them? â  heâs an intelligent boy.  sheâs sure he realizes he fully intends to face olaf and police involvement will come after she handles him ( here, the words âhandles himâ could be easily replaced with deals with him with extreme violence or even murders him, should things come to that ).
lips purse in consideration. he could only imagine what was going to happen when this ( supposed ) librarian got a hold of the baudelaireâs guardian. âbefore i... snuck out of the window- my sisters were trying to finish the ridiculous and impossible list of chores olaf gives us,â itâs more like child labor than tasks around the house. âcount olaf and his..â goons? henchman? âacting troop will most likely be... rehearsing in the front room,â a pause. âi could get my sisters out the same way i came down- if thereâs going to be a big scene,â klaus had no intention of stopping ghanima, nor getting in her way. all he wanted was for him, violet, and sunny to be safe.

grin remains thoughtful, crystal eyes secure on the hufflepuff as luna gives a hum. âyou are definitely the least holey person iâve met,â she confirms, and means it genuinely. with her attention now firmly on cedric, lunaâs head tilts in curiosity. âcan i help you with something, cedric? you look as if you might have a question to ask,â lunaâs grin grows encouraging. âno promises that iâll have the answer, aâcourse, but iâll try my best,â

she didnât want to assume that because theyâre working together, he would want to perform together, in front of a live audience.  itâs one thing to be in a studio together but another to think he would want to put together an entire concert with her.  gaea is fortunate to have this âŚÂ  just like she is that he feels comfortable enough to touch her, her hands almost dropping her bundle of hair before she plucks up another pen and jabs it in to keep it in place.  â i suppose we do, â she replies, flustered ( hoping ).  â this really has been easy.  easier than iâve been told it should be. â
âdefinitely easier than any collab iâve done before,â with how long of a music career heâs had, jonâs had plenty of proper duets with musicians across all genres. some went well, some went terribly. singing and creating with gaea, however, remained an entirely different experience. âiâm glad you accepted my offer,â jonny says after a moment. âwasnât sure if you be interested,â

if anyone understood not being able to let things go, it would be jim. especially when it had to do with cases, personal cases. heâs heard of felix and the murder of his family, heâd be surprised to hear of someone who hasnât heard of that case. itâs a older case but jim can only imagine how fresh it might feel in the detectiveâs mind. however, he did not anticipate the detective coming to him. âyou want my help on this?â
ten years on the case, and not once has felix asked for help. the local police had given up on it long ago, and truth be told, the detective trusted no one enough to let them in on it. that sentiment changed enough to reach out to jim gordon, a man he hadnât contacted in a handful of years. âyeah, i do,â he confirms, standing opposite gordon in his office. gaze is yellowed from booze and bloodshot from lack of rest. âi think i finally got a lead, but i...â canât do it alone, anymore. âi need some assistance,â

she can tell he truly means it.  not that valentine is something of a liar.  heâs actually quite transparent and especially after showing her the room dedicated to her, since they truly started.  gaea smiles, cupping his face and caressing the skin beneath his eyes.  of course would be thanking her, like done something other than be loved by him.  though supposes did take chance in letting around daughter and not just that but stay with them as well.  â youâre welcome, â she says, instead of her usual deflecting.  â thank you for letting us feel that adoration.  and being so good with her.  and just âŚÂ  just being good. â  leaning down to kiss him, itâs not as chaste as it could be, the woman pouring all the emotions suddenly flooding her into the contact.
val takes the kiss with glee, wrapping long arms tight around gaeaâs frame. lips move lovingly against her own, action that much more proof of his affection. pleasant hum escapes the being as he pulls away, corners of eyes and lips crinkling as valentine grins. âthis was definitely worth taking a break from packing,â pale fingers lift to brush a lock of hair from gaeaâs temple. âbut if we ever want to leave, i suggest we get back to it sooner rather than later,â a pause. âwe can always pick this back up when we land in paris,â

clover rolled their eyes. greyson is always so surly in the morning for no good reason at all. a frown quirked onto cloverâs features , â were you just planning to live off of a cuppa coffee ? seems like a bad start to the day. â thereâs a slight tsk to their words before they broke out into a smile at the mention of waffles. â waffles it is ! we have a winner. â throwing a few onto a green plate and passing the syrup nearer greyson.Â
unable to comprehend anything except irritation this early in the morning, greyson often found themselves snapping at those around them without truly meaning to. âwell yeah,â is their gruff response, greyson taking a sip from their i hate mornings mug for emphasis. their face seems to unscrunch a tiny bit when the waffles land in front of them, and a grumpy thanks is given before greyson smothers the breakfast food in sweet, sticky syrup. âwhyâre you so chipper this morning, anyway?â as if clover or any of the others needed an excuse. they were almost always some kind of happy. it made greyson ill.

â iâm not worried about that right now, â she tells him as she sits, arms crossed and laid on top of the table. poor manners, definitely, but gaea has always been more relaxed than her father had ever wanted her to be.  no, leftovers and cleaning up arenât on her mind, as she hear mr. poe pull himself together enough to leave her home.  what is are the children in front of her, eating with such vigor that she knows theyâve been malnourished.  â after youâve all been here for a while and youâre more comfortable, â she begins,  â and we know where we stand and what works, iâd like for you all to tell me everything. what youâve been through.  whatâs happened.  what count olaf has done.  iâve followed in the newspaper and i know adults havenât seemed to be on your side.  but i am.  and iâm going to do everything in my power to give you the home you deserve, even if itâs not the home you want. â  because that one was burned down, along with their parents.
he isnât used to adults wanting to listen to them. itâs as if the baudelaire children no longer mattered after their parents died. glancing at violet, klaus slowly brings another bite of food to his mouth, secretly savoring the taste, in case he didnât get any more later. âi think i speak for all of us when i say how grateful we are. for all of this,â the sentiment sounds half hearted, because despite how much klaus wants to trust gaea, he has little value in the words of grown ups, these days. passing another cracker to sunny, klaus finds it hard to look the woman in the eyes. âif you donât mind me asking... how did you know our parents?â

â this graveyard feels especially dead tonight, my dear. â  with her husband at her side and the tombstones of those passed ( but still lingering ) surrounding them, she has to agree: thereâs no better way to spend this cloudy day.  hands folded in her lap, morticia glances at the basket before looking at him.  â what have you prepared for us, gomez?  and please tell me you brought the arsenic. â  what picnic would be complete without her favorite condiment!  despite making a recipe for cupcakes all her own, no one on the pta would allow the other parents or children to partake.  more for wednesday, she supposed.  and bringing them back home, they were absolutely demolished.
âhow could i forget?â from the depths of the basket, gomez pulls a tall bottle, liquid half full swishing within. passing it along, he also reveals a glass jug of absinthe, as well as some questionable looking food that lurch had prepared for them. âa beautiful night, with the love of my life, surrounded by the souls of our ancestors,â as if on que, a moaning gust of wind followed his words. gomez sighed, holding out the absinthe. âshall we begin with a drink, mon cher?â

the idea of having his back to this kid doesnât sit right with him.  he knows something about the long game.  even with all this southern hospitality, aramis hasnât survived ( and run free ) this long without being cautious.  still, he inclines his head in thanks before stepping into the church.  he noticed the lack of life in the town.  at this point, he may just be intrigued at the mystery.  and despite the blood on his hands, heâs not a bad man.  and he has a bad feeling.  maybe, he thinks, as he eyes the stained windows, itâs because heâs never been a church - goer.
