     eve let out a little laugh. “that sounds just as bad as the one time i cursed someone to speak in couplets for like three days because every time he came and talked to me to try and get me to reverse it, i laughed so hard that he eventually just left.” her abilities were really subtle and all eve really cared about was her artistic abilities. “abilities are difficult to master sometimes.” 

“what did he do that made you curse him?”  hadley laughed, although he was troubled.  did the curse make the rhymes happen, or could you only talk if you were able to rhyme?  he’d be screwed, he wasn’t creative enough to make up rhymes.  “yeah, no kidding.”  ( @evemercado​ )

hadley was carrying a stack of boxes, on a super-important mission from chiron:  restock the camp store.  he couldn’t say he was surprised, considering he’d been hinting about it for weeks.  hadley just happened to be the unlucky one to pass by the big house when chiron was on the porch.  so here he was, blindly carting boxes across camp.  it was no surprise when he inevitably crashed into someone.  “sorry!”  he called out, scrambling to pick up the boxes before anything fell out.  “oh, hey zeke.”

“ollie!! how are you?”  hadley called out, speeding up to a jog when he saw the boy from a distance.  he’d been holed up in his cabin for a couple days, feeling a little under the weather, a little bit just not wanting to talk to anyone.  “i feel like i’ve missed so much,”  he pulled him into a one-armed side hug when he finally caught up.  “what’s going on?”

“i get the importance of everyone pulling their weight, don’t get me wrong,”  hadley said, totally being a good head counselor and not complaining about chores.  “but this?  is dumb.”  he grabbed a few more strawberries and stuffed them in his basket, swiping a couple to eat as a punctuation to his rant.  “like, there are people whose powers are plants.  if they needed like a wind turbine or something, i wouldn’t expect kids to run on a hamster wheel.  i’d learn how to use some wind powers and get that shit going when it slowed down.  am i crazy?”
