some sentence sunday (wednesday?)

piggybacking on this tag from @thoughtsofthegirlwiththecurl three days late because it looked so fun!!! i’ve been writing this wip for ages (as is typical for me lol) and i really love it.

Dex finds himself wandering into his guest room relatively often, thumbing through some of the books on Nursey’s bookshelf and occasionally reading a few paragraphs. He tries to imagine what Nursey likes about each of them, and it’s easier with some than others; he would like the nature imagery in the book with the gold cover, and the small-town detective in the red hardback with the embossing.

It occurs to Dex briefly once, standing by the bookshelf, that if anyone else were to stay here, it would feel like they were staying in somebody else’s bedroom. They would know this was somebody’s space, their home, where they keep things they love and want to return to. He isn’t sure it would feel that way if they stayed in his own room.

That thought seems important in some way, but he’s not sure what to do with it. He files it away on the bookshelf with the rest of his Nursey-related things.

Some Sentence Sunday

I'm back on my NurseyDex bullshit, but since I posted my last active WIP this morning I had to go digging in the drafts, which is good because I forgot I had this and now I'm like oh this one's fun, I should finish this:

Nursey always thought love would smack him in the face, a big aha moment. That there’d be grand sweeping gestures and poetry. A lightbulb. A minute struck dumb thinking oh. Instead it feels like stepping into a warm bath. Like snapping the final puzzle piece in place. Like coming home after a long day. He looks up at Dex and thinks well obviously. And when Dex ducks his head down slightly and kisses him, it feels like the most natural thing in the world, as second-nature as breathing.

when we get the omgcp tv show we need an accent coordinator. i was just sat here thinking about how vitally important it is that everyone’s accent is perfect. bitty and jack go without saying but lardo’s boston accent. ransom’s canadian accent also. chowder’s laid back cali accent. nursey’s faux chill new york accent? holster’s western new york accent! don’t know what a maine accent sounds like but dex gotta have one. this is very important to me
