There’s that post that’s like ‘everyone should get into a tiny niche fandom at least once’ fully agree, that was really fun -- but I would like to add that everyone should get into a fandom where their opinions run counter to major fanon because it really teaches you about sticking to your guns and trusting your interpretation of the text without having to rely on peer validation

Do you like media about trans men/transmasculine characters but don't know where to find it?

That's sooo crazy because I have this little spreadsheet I'm working on where I'm trying to document all media with protagonists/major characters who are FTM or transmasculine.

The spreadsheet currently has 200+ entries spread across the following categories:

Books

Manga

Memoirs and non-fiction

Movies

TV Shows

Graphic novels / Comics

Webcomics

Audio dramas

Books and movies are also sorted by:

Which character is trans (MC, love interest, antagonist, etc)

If the trans character is POC

The trans character's sexuality (Because I saw lots of transhet guys sad about only being able to find gay romances)

If the author/actor is also trans (if we know for sure)

It's free to use, and free to add to as well! Editing permissions are on, and I check on the spreadsheet every now and then to make sure everything is in order and to clean up.

If you know something that isn't on the list, please add it! You don't have to fill in every single column, but fill it to the best of your abilities.

#sometimes I’m like this and other times I’m the person this is talking about #i don’t really know how to explain it tbh it’s just #I’m typically described as very empathetic and emotionally intelligent for my age and they always mean that as a compliment #even if it causes me to cry and grieve about this that shouldn’t really effect me that much logically #but then there’d be stuff that should affect me that I should be excited for or even ecstatic about #but I don’t act excited at least in a normal way #I say I am because I know I am #but I don’t really FEEL it you know? #I’m not jumping for joy or even smiling about it really #at most I infodump about it and stim while I do so #but that’s not what being excited for something is really portrayed as right? #same thing for sad situations tho it’s more like a coin flip for those #there’s 50/50 chance that I’ll either get really sad about or just say ‘damn that sucks’ and then try to move on #it’s more like 25/75 now that I think about it #idk man I’m just rambling that this point #this post was basically made for trauma dumping so I think it’s ok right? #idk I’m gonna go watch transformers now
