You lay sprawled out on your dorm bed, gazing up at the ceiling, having long since drifted into a daze.

With a groan, you snapped back to reality, punching the mattress before sitting up and taking a deep breath.

Jumping down from the top bunk, you made your way to the living room where your phone sat on the sofa, revealing numerous missed calls and unread messages from the members, particularly from Sumin.

You had claimed that you didn't feel well, which wasn't entirely untrue and had opted to stay behind while everyone else went out to eat during your time off.

Lately, life hadn't been easy – constant fighting between your parents back home and late-night distress calls from your sister due to the time difference added to your stress.

Even your friends outside of KQ made jokes about you that only worsened your mood all the time, yet they had the audacity and still turned to you for help with their own personal issues.

You decided to call Minjae, who answered in a panic. you reassured him that you were fine, though he scolded you before informing that Sumin was on his way, having decided to come check on you after you didn't answer anyone's calls for a good 3 hours. As you hung up, Sumin burst through the door, distress visible on his features.

Turning to face him, wiping away tears, you felt overwhelmed, the weight of everything starting to consume you. Without a word exchanged, Sumin could tell something was bothering you.

His eyes softened visibly as he offered you a weak smile, dropping his bag and pulling you into a comforting embrace, which you gratefully accepted.

There were no tears shed or words spoken, just the solace of being in the arms of your best friend, finding comfort with each passing moment. With your eyes closed, you cherished the sensation of his hand running through your hair, his embrace providing a sense of security.

"I've got you, and I'm not going anywhere," Sumin whispered, offering reassurance in the midst of your turmoil.
