Despite everything I still fucking love Monogatari

#same #I enjoy the series but will never recommend it #there are a ton of issues with it I can never endorse #and most of them are irredeemable #but the cast of characters are so well rounded #and the concept is amazing #dialogue superb #and Hanekawa is even a character I see myself reflected in #the lessons about allowing yourself to feel hurt #A+ #but the problems the series has really REALLY make me uncomfortable #and the narrative just plays the problems straight #not even an acknowledgement of what they just played off as a joke #or even worse not having it as a joke and refusing to unpack it
