"Don't use Libby because it costs libraries too much, pirate instead" is such a weird, anti-patron, anti-author take that somehow manages to also be anti-library, in my professional librarian-ass opinion.

It's well documented that pirating books negatively affects authors directly* in a way that pirating movies or TV shows doesn't affect actors or writers, so I will likely always be anti-book piracy unless there's absolutely, positively no other option (i.e. the book simply doesn't exist outside of online archives at all, or in a particular language).

Also, yeah, Libby and Hoopla licenses are really expensive, but libraries buy them SO THAT PATRONS CAN USE THEM. If you're gonna be pissed at anybody about this shitty state of affairs, be pissed at publishing companies and continue to use Libby or Hoopla at your library so we can continue to justify having it to our funding bodies.

One of the best ways to support your library having services you like is to USE THOSE SERVICES. Yes, even if they are expensive.

I see a lot of people talk about their worship of the gods and it just reminds me how I have to remain at this weird distance from the hellenic community (online at least) for work related stuff...I can be a messenger I can do divination involving the gods, but my practice what I do and think I have to be strangely distanced.

It's odd to me when I see how to worship who or what to do for who and how to act because like, idk...just ask them yourself? Talk to them yourself??? Ask your gods what to do? It's really sweet to see everyone sharing their opinions and experiences and I want to also!!

Im just rattling ig, not sure what im tryna say but it's strange seeing everyone talk about the gods like you all can't just sit down and ask? Is that the reason Hermes told me to practice more??? Am I supposed to help people connect in other ways than I already have? Why does it seem so difficult for people to just sit with their gods and talk? Do they not talk back? Why?? Maybe I should ask the gods this stuff but I've got almost 4 pages full of questions because eof this past week
