The Sims 2 Inspired UI for The Sims 4

After making my own UI override, I've been itching to look back in time and try to recreate The Sims 2 UI in TS4, and here it is!

I tried to capture the look & feel as best as possible, so I hope you can enjoy this mod and reminisce a bit c:

General Info

PC: 1.105.345.1020 / Mac: 1.105.345.1220 Older game versions will not work with this mod.

UI overhaul in the style of The Sims 2's UI.

Over 500+ additional icons recolored for CAS & BuildBuy!

Sims 2 style cursor recolors.

Most text are kept in their original color, though they might get changed/updated down the line.

To install:

// Main mod

Download & extract the zip file within your Mods folder.

Install the latest UI Cheats Extension mod and make sure it loads after the Sims 2 UI mod. Current version needed: v1.40

// Extras

Loading screen: download only one loading screen file. Available in: 4:3 - 16:9 - 16:10 aspect ratio.

Opening screen: file to replace the intro TS4 screen. Choose the file that pertains to your game language.

TS2 Cursor: recolored TS4 cursor to match with TS2's cursor. Unfortunately, some cursors are missing their recolors (rotate cam & grab+arrows in CAS).

EA Notif: optional file if you prefer to keep the notification in its original color scheme.

Fully compatible w/ UI Cheats Extension v1.40. To avoid any issues, keep the original mod in your mods folder (both .package and .ts4script) and have it load after the Sims 2 UI mod.

Compatible with all custom content maxis match hair or any hair that doesn't require transparencies. However, I noticed some CC creators occasionally use the hat region and other regions for their hair CC's UV map. This hair overlay will not affect textures placed in those regions

Makeup sliders compatible

General tips on how to use this overlay

Use the gray/white hair color as the base, then use this hair overlay to get the color you want.

If you want a more saturated color, use a non-white hair color as the base, then use this hair overlay.

I highly recommend using the makeup sliders to properly adjust the colors, brightness, opacity, and hue!

UPDATE 27 NOV 2023

The overlay is now can also be found in Skin Details, Body Scars, and Tattoos category! The ones in those categories, however, are not slider compatible. They will also be applied to all outfits category and probably work as genetics too.

There are some files . package  that have been used for this world. These files do NOTcome with the world, you have to download separately and place them in the folderMods> Packages game. If you do not want CC simply not install the files and do not appear in the world. Are decorative objects, otherwise performance will install the world will not be affected, but some sun will be ugly. The world is revised with the Sims 3 Pack Cleaner and clean. To facilitate the installation of these files unburden this file where all the used objects grouped in a single file are package (Credits in the download).

New Scholarships by Twinsimming 🎓

"Need some extra simoleons for university? Sims University now offers a variety of scholarships for prospective students!"

This is a script mod that can be placed in your Packages folder. It was built and tested on 1.69 but should work fine on 1.67.

Applying for Scholarships

Teen sims and older have a new “Apply for Scholarships” interaction available at the school rabbithole or on the computer under “Sims University Online”. Though they’re less likely to win a scholarship if they apply online rather than in person.

If your sim wins a scholarship, they will not be able to reapply for that scholarship again. If they do not win, they will be given a Disappointed moodlet and have to wait a day before applying again.

Types of Scholarships

There are four (4) types of scholarships your sims can apply for: General, Legacy, Skill Based, and Occult. In total, there are 18 scholarships, each with their own custom moodlet. 

Sims have a 45% chance of winning a scholarship in the General, Legacy, and Occult categories when applying in-person and a 40% chance when applying online.

Sims have a 6% chance of winning a Skill Based scholarship at Level 1 of the required skill. This chance multiplies with each skill level, with a maximum of a 60% chance at Level 10.

Certain traits can either increase or decrease your chance of winning a scholarship by 5% (note: this value stacks the more traits your sim has):

Increased Chance Traits - Lucky and Ambitious

Decreased Chance Traits - Unlucky and Loser

Some of the scholarship names are originally from The Sims 2 and the others I made up myself. They are listed below by category:

General

Young Entrepreneurs Award (§750) - Requires Level 3 part-time job, Teen only

Orphaned Sims Assistance Fund (§750) - Requires deceased or non-existing parents, Teen only

Golden Year Scholars Grant (§1000) - Elders only

Gemini Hidden Masters Prize (§1500) - Requires Level 10 in one hidden skill

Legacy

Student Service Workers Fund (§1000) - For sims with a service worker hidden trait (Makes No Messes, Pyromaniac, Can Apprehend Burglar, Can Salute, Immune To Fire, or Pizza Appreciator)

Cultural Exchange Program (§1000) - For sims with one of the hidden culture traits from The Sims 3: World Adventures

Students of Tomorrow Scholarship (§1000) - For sims with the hidden Future Sim trait from The Sims 3: Into the Future

Skill Based

Dreamer Family Artisan Award (§750) - Requires at least Level 1 Artisan Skill

Tsang Footwork Award (§750) - Requires at least Level 1 Dance (Store) Skill

Violin Society of SimNation Scholarship (§750) - Requires at least Level 1 Violin Skill

Occult

Undead Education Scholarship (§1500) - For Vampires, Zombies, and Ghosts

Extraterrestrial Reparation Grant (§1500) - For Aliens and sims recently abducted by Aliens

Spellcasting Scholars Grant (§1500) - For Witches, Fairies, and Genies

Lycanthropy Philanthropy Fund (§1500) - For Werewolves

Bots Opportunity To Specialize (B.O.T.S.) (§1500) - For Simbosts and Plumbots

Forbidden Fruit Fellowship (§1500) - For PlantSims

Real World Acclimation Fund (§1500) - For Real Imaginary Friends

Aquatic Allies Award (§1500) - For Mermaids

Maintaining Scholarships

After winning a scholarship, your sim will get the new custom Won Scholarship moodlet. They have a week to either enroll in online university with my Attend University Online mod, or in-person university to remain eligible for their scholarship.

If they fail to enroll in time, their scholarship will be rescinded and they will have to pay back the money they were awarded. If they can’t afford to pay back the scholarship amount in full, it will be added to their next household bill. (No free money here!)

Once a sim has a scholarship rescinded, they will get the new custom Lost Scholarship moodlet and be barred from applying for scholarships for 3 days.

New Moodlets

Won Scholarship: Given when a sim wins a scholarship, lasts 1 day, +20 mood, each scholarship has its own custom moodlet icon

Lost Scholarship: Given when a sim has a scholarship rescinded, lasts 3 days, -20 mood, makes sims stressed

Online Aptitude Test

Teen sims and older can now take the university aptitude test on the computer under “Sims University Online”. It works the same as the default interaction.

Tuning

All of the tunable values can be found on the mod download page under the header “Tuning”.

New Cheat

If you want to clear all scholarship winners in your world (on a per save basis), enter the cheat menu and type “ClearScholarshipWinnerData” without the quotation marks.

Conflicts & Known Issues

This is a new script mod so there shouldn’t be any conflicts.

Felicity Eyes

New Version of “Eyes N15″

It’s been a while… like, a few years… I don’t even know what to say. I just felt the urge to play Sims and suddenly I found myself fixing some of my default eyes and I couldn’t stop… 😂 So I guess I’m kinda back for now?! Gonna start slowly though and focus on all the broken eyes that are still of somewhat good quality, and then see where it leads to. :D I’m starting with those which where formerly known as “Eyes N15″ and are actually my most downloaded custom content of all time. 🧡

Heterochromia option is only the right eye and you can use them with any of the other two options of the regular eyes to combine the colors.

Important Note: The heterochromia eyes can be found in Skin Detail. They will conflict with bracelets since they’re using the same texturespace. They will of course also conflict with other creators custom content that uses this texturespace, for example some eyelashes by MMSims.

Recoloring is allowed! Using and including my heterochromia mesh is allowed! Using my sclera is allowed! All I’m asking for is a credit and a link back to this post. Thank you! 🧡

‘Roseward’ - A Zombie Apocalypse World by Nigalkins [1000+ Follower Gift]

Hello! I’ve spent some time on this world for a while; and finally I’ve finished it. It’s a zombie apocalypse themed world. There are 44 lots in total and it’s on a large map with distant terrain. Most of these lots are furnished however some are empty shells since most buildings will be decoration. It shouldn’t contain any CC and probably uses all expansion packs up until present(University). Items from stuff packs were used but they’ll be replaced. Furthermore, there are also lots that are suitable to create your own safe zone for your Sims to live. Feel free to use this world for whatever you want; a zombie apocalypse challenge, taking screenshots or whatever! However, please do not re-upload this/claiming it as your own!

TheSweetSimmer mod notes: - Big thanks to MissPat for testing, giving feedback and translating the mod, as well as Battery for helping me get a piece of code working! In this mod, toddlers will finally be able to learn to walk by themselves, no adults or store walker required! Mod Info - This mod was built and tested with game version 1.69, but should work with v.1.67 as well. - What type of mod is this? - This a pure script mod, adding a new interaction to toddlers to learn to walk by themselves. This mod can go into the Packages folder. - Animations - All new animations. - Translations - The interaction name is translated to all languages. To have your toddler perform the interaction, select them then click on them and an interaction to “Learn to Walk” will appear. The interaction is autonomous and will last a total of 40 Sim minutes each time (unless cancelled) and by default it will take around 5-6 tries for the toddler to level up their walking skill. Once they level up, the interaction will disappear. Adventurous and Athletic toddlers will be almost 2x faster at learning the skill and will be more likely to perform the interaction. All these values can be tuned inside the XML and ITUN file in the mod package. Clumsy toddlers will fall more often than normal, and excitable toddlers will cheer and clap after they level up. Because this mod implements forward and backward locomotion, please make sure your toddler is in an open area before they perform the interaction, otherwise the chances of them walking through objects and walls will be more likely. [TS3] Random Sim Fixes

Overview

Here's a small fix/improvement mod I've had for my own personal use for a bit - mainly it attempts to fix issues with and improve randomly generated and aging up Sims (Such as pudding face) in a non-intrusive, non-core way.

Features

Generated Sims will no longer be pudding faced.

Sims won't age up into or generate with future clothing on non-future worlds anymore.

Male Sims now have chances to have facial hair, both on age up and generation.

Generated Sims will now actually have random voices and voice pitches, rather than all being 50% pitch Voice 1. Sims will also re-roll voice types on age up as more voice types become available to them.

Fitness, weight and breast size are now randomized as well, including muscle definition. Muscle definition depends on fitness and weight, with some variation.

Installation

Just drop the package into your Documents/Sims 3/Mods/Packages folder.

You can modify the tuning with S3PE - inside of the package you can find a commented XML with all of the tuning values.

Compatibility

Won't take effect if you already have a core mod that fixes pudding faces - disable this feature in the core mod if possible to have this work.

Special thanks to Simler90, as I've found about some of these issues thanks to his GameplaySystems core mod.
