poly ship things that no one thinks about:

* the bed is inevitably too small the first year of their relationship. always. *person a confides anger/frustration/hurt to person b and then person c 2 hours later kicks open the door like WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME because every poly relationship has the emotional turmoil tattle tail * learning each other’s weird little habits and pet peeves and how they totally end up causing hilarious arguments * person a, b, and c all trying to shop for gifts and having to weave an intricate web of lies to try and keep the others from finding out their gifts * figuring out positions in bed that work best for everyone ends up being a competition * persons a and c trying to suprise person b and person b knew the whole fucking time that those two idiots were planning a party but they still act all surprised because they know how hard those idiots worked * Persons b and c getting into an argument and person a tries to be the mediator * persons a and b getting frustrated with how emotionall closed off person c can be and commiserating together *but persons b and c always commiserate about how emotionally demanding person a can be at times * then persons a and c getting together and basically agreeing that the worst thing about person b is how fucking picky they are about the hOUSE JESUS IT’S A DIRTY CUP IN THE SINK CALM DOWN * the kitchen is always too cramped. you could literally have a chopped style kitchen and it’s still cramped. * trying to explain that no this is not our friend or sibling this is actually our other partner * the turmoil of being the new one to the relationship *the anxiety of being the one who suggests the relationship first * the shower/bath is always frustratingly too small * fielding “mormon” jokes and “polygamy” questions * “who gets to be the middle spoon” * the absolute requirement of a large couch *having two people to snuggle when you’re sad * everything is a vote. everything. who wants pizza? do we like this piece of the living room? * cuddle piles or cuddlepede. there is no other way. * those moments where one feels left out and the others have to reassure them * different kinks and figuring out how to keep everyone comfortable but still play * if someone smokes/drinks and someone else in the ship ain’t cool with it * coming out as a trio *figuring out parenting * clashing decor *clashing music tastes * CLASHING
