"oh itd be illegal in real life though!!" yeah. a lot of shows have moments like that too. and theyre not always shown to be explicitly negative, are seen as funny, or are even seen as attractive. but people are yknow. expected to know that certain things aren't okay irl. because they expect them to be adults with critical thinking skills.

love how there are posts (made by proshippers.) that become suddenly popular and basically saying 'remember folks! shipping is just a fun hobby and that your imagination should have no limits on this subject!' but there are still people in the comments or reblogs who say 'i agree but i hope its not a new excuse to ship yucky stuff again like pedophilia and incest'
my friend. u completely missed the point of the post
every damn time

Technically they're spreading variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, as Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy is bovine only and does not retain the name when passing cross-species IIRC.
Well i wouldn’t call them “anti-sex purity folk”, these guys are sometimes anything BUT pure lol
I think it’s because violent taboos like murder and cannibalism are literally the most normalized in fiction, that when someone looks at it they fail to see that it’s still a taboo, and can be on the same level as other dark topics such as pedophilia because they both can literally get you to prison if you act on them irl!!!
I remember seeing people call an artist weird for drawing william afton as a silly guy, and i tell you dude, SO MANY PEOPLE came into that artists defense claiming “it’s not real! So it’s okay!!”
People can cosplay william all the time, but when it’s someone like valentino from hazbin hotel, they get harrassed (im not sure if you heard of the valentino cosplay drama, but that literally happened…) and even doing something such as calling val your favorite character can get you looked at weird…
I’ve decided not to use the proship label (because i don’t want to be associated with the negatives in the community…i don’t want another drama.) but im still chill with proshippers interacting with me, talking to me and other stuff because i still understand that i am not any better!! And honestly? I wish more proshippers interacted with my account because i can’t say what i think unless i speak in their spaces as an anon (which is what im doing here)
Toss some quotes around the purity then, lol.
But yeah, no. I've watched folks thirst over and cosplay fucking Jeffrey Dahmer with ZERO repercussions, there's no goddamn reason why anybody should be attacked for liking Valentino as a character. If anything, folks need to realize that as far as Hazbin characters go, he's an incredibly well written villain. It takes a good villain to make you hate em.
Super fair to avoid the label. Avoid it like a plague unless you're comfortable with the risk of harassment, because unfortunately, that's a thing that happens. If you ever get sick of asks, though, I do like how you can comment from individual sideblogs. It's pretty nifty. I've got normalish sideblogs 1-11, this one and the sister blog, and then like. The associated homestuck blog and unassociated whump blog. And nobody knows that 90% of those blogs are run by the same bitch. Which also keeps all the hate towards the label concentrated right here. It's like a filing system for death threats.

I’d write about more female characters if they were actually interesting, but in most media they’re either dumbed down, shy and timid, princesses in distress and there’s hate coming from f/f fans that I don’t want to deal with
True that.

I saw a dni list I can't stop thinking about. It had pretty typical stuff (think Homophobic, racist). But then it had proship/prolife.
Don't people normally put a / if it's the same or similar thing? Like, proship/profic? I can't stop thinking that they might believe that proship and prolife are the same thing.
That's uh.
Wow.
Interesting.

Why writing mlm is very popular in general?/genq
Tbh I have no idea.
Despite being afab and still be relatively feminine as an nb, I just find it easier to write guys then girls. But that's def not a universal experience. I just know it's popular, especially amongst female authors.

the boyfriends webtoon is too cutesy for me and even the author himself admitted he’s not a good writer so I understand not liking it (and it’s also fine to not be a fan of the comic), but tbh the way antis deal with it is in very often cases the same as conservatives
they find any reason that isn’t actually that important to cancel it
they posed with boyfriends t-shirts that read “boyfriends webtoon made me hiv positive”
they are often threatening to burn the physical book as well as any store that sells the book/merch
antis insinuated more than once that the college aged characters are minors so it “normalizes pedophilia”
said that the author is fetishizing gay / poly relationships (the author is a trans man and based the comic on his own ideal wishes and experiences)
and in between antis you’ll find radfems joining the many cancel posts that get a TON of attention, and said radfems go as far as to say of course it ferishizes gay relationships, obviously the author is actually a woman and obsessed with men loving men
Not a single anti spoke up about radfems defending them either
Antis would be shocked to learn that 90% of danmei and presumably the same amount of yaoi works are written by uh
Women
Often cis, het women
They try to push the ideal of women being disallowed to write mlm and that genre might as well be gone. It will only be boyfriends, eternally.

guys i think if the 6,000,000 m/m fics and 1,000,000 f/f fics on ao3 havent succeeded in normalizing queer relationships worldwide in 2024, then im PRETTY SURE the 320,000 underage fics, the 148,000 incest fics and the 380,000 rape fics arent going to normalize such topics irl anytime soon
I don’t understand what is this logic you’re using /jk

I’m in a very small fandom and struggling to find other proshippers. Now even interacting with the fandom is a pain in the ass because there’s been antis finding my other accounts, I even had to change my pfp because the artist didn’t support “freaks like me.” Do you have any advice for finding other proshippers/vibe-checking people to see if they’re okay with pro-fic stuff?
I'm sorry that I let this one stew for so long and I'd like to start this off by heavily encouraging others to weigh in.
Anon, first off, I'm so sorry about the way that folks have treated you, and that you can't connect with a media you love in the way that you deserve to. I highly recommend attempting to create your own space, filled with people who follow a similar mindset. Or even just find a friend who'll listen to you ramble and rant. Unfortunately, with some fandoms, that's all you really can do.
This is going to sound a bit silly, but the best way to find good people to be around, really, is to just gauge how 'chronically online' they seem to be. And then, sort of ease into asking them their stance on fiction. I roleplay a lot, so I'll typically ask for RP taboo lists, maybe make a side comment on how 'oh yeah, ugh. Idgaf about fiction and what others do, but yeah, X is def a nope for me in RP as well', and see their response to that. Find little things, and more importantly, find normal things. Sometimes you can even skip that second step. Most folks, if they're antis, you can tell in how they act. If something seems off about them...they likely aren't the best folks to stick around. Keeping away from the drama, period, also works. I try not to bring it up unless it's necessary...why give an argument or harassment a chance to grab a foothold if there's really no need in the first place?
But that's just how I do things, and while it's effective for me, it isn't effective for everyone. To a highly recommend getting as much input as possible to find a way that works for you.

Not an anti-related ask but I wanna show you:
A very American song
Made by a Swedish band that somehow managed to capture the essense of American cowboys & hillbillies
Being covered by a Swedish guitarist of a Swedish metal band that do songs about wars throughout the history
It's beautiful.

Hi again
“what does that make me?” Anon
So Im in an anti circle, and then i decided to speak about proship as coping (since i do that)
Now people are assuming things about me so that’s cool…!
But also ironic cuz i am pretty open about enjoying fictional cannibalism, even when it’s romanticized and i even admitted to reading dead dove, but no one called me weird for that
I don’t understand why only when it’s not the violence taboos that enjoying dark topics is bad…even before i began questioning my stance on this, i wondered about it
Just wanted 2 say it, sorry for ranting here!! ☹️☹️
Yeah, no, I don't get it.
Why is stuff like torture and murder and cannibalism okay when stuff like incest and noncon and necrophilia aren't? Both types are equally as bad.
Oh wait, hold on, yeah, anti-sex purity folks. Sex bad. Lowest of the low.
Sorry about the fact that folks are assuming things and (presumably) are attacking you, though. That sucks ass, genuinely.

would you happen to know any good sites to post multi-chapter fanfiction on that isn't AO3? i've tolerated using the mess that is wattpad for years specifically because i don't want to put my works on AO3, but after the purge recently, i have to find somewhere else to post. the only suggestion i've been given so far is to move to AO3 and i'm not doing that. i've considered posting here, but the idea of having to split my fics up into 30+ posts and include links in each chapter's post for each fic sounds like pulling teeth to post and to read. would love any suggestions if you happen to have any.
I don't, but I certainly need a good once as well. I love AO3, but despite their Original Content fandom tag, they've started purging original content that folks report (as it's against their rules, so that totally contradicts the fandom tag existing, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms).

Antis saying the relationship between Sebastian & Ciel is "like father & son" is highly concerning and everyone who aren't Antis on twt keep telling them that "No, Sebastian keeps dressing Ciel up in the shotacon equivalent of a half-naked big tiddy anime girl (little shorts and sock garters)?!"
NO SANE FATHER WOULD DO THAT TO THEIR SON SO TF ARE ANTIS ARE DRINKING????
As far as their canon relationship goes, sebaciel is far more accurate to the source material than father/son, ngl.
If they think Sebastian and Ciel's relationship is that of a father and a son, I worry for them. It's a very unhealthy relationship, and I question if they were raised well as a child, genuinely. Because no father should treat their child in the ways that Sebastian treats Ciel.
And that's ignoring the fact that it's written by a shotacon, lol.

idk if you know the youtuber "E" (known for the video "Fandom Policing, Purity Culture and the Death of Media Literacy) and apparently she has a discord where a (now former) head mod of hers messaged someone because they were uncomfortable with the fact that they shipped kaeluc and had a banner about them
you know, the fictional ship between the sworn brothers Diluc and Kaeya from Genshin
E went on to say how inappropriate and stupid this is and then had to face multiple people being incredibly nasty to her, and from E's tweets I think they were saying death threats in a voice call? I don't really understand
then the head mod posted the DM's they had with E to the internet and it was WILD. They legit got upset over a MEME. OVER A JOKE BANNER. They ended a friendship because they got upset over a fictional ship, then kept contradicting themselves by saying it wasn't about kaeluc but it was and also about incest relationship
During this time not once did E lash out on the head mod in any nasty way, she was understandably angry though and kept repeating that the issue wasn't their uncomfortableness but the fact they messaged someone over a ship. A joke banner.
That's fucking ridiculous.
Then again, somebody told me to off myself over a Stainmight meme once, so I'm not surprised.
Folks are absolutely mental nowadays, it honestly scares me for the future.

I saw an anti blame the boyfriends webtoon of being a threat to lgbtq+ people and the reason an anti lgbtq+ law was passed in court...
I don't like boyfriends (the webtoon) but jfc it doesn't have that much power, lmfao.
