Managed to get the same spot today and am working on a group presentation on Contract Law. So confused and we only have 1 week to do this 😭 presentation’s on Monday 😭

8.6.2018 // Had my first classes of the semester today: Interview Techniques, Psychopathology 1, and Psychoanalysis Fundamentals 2. All my professors seemed pretty good and Psychopathology was interesting and particularly surprising, because we’ll have some Phenomenology (which is my favorite trend in Philosophy currently) of Psychopathology in the next two classes I think. It was a rainy day and the campus was really cozy, I definitely should’ve taken a picture to illustrate this post. My bad.

Btw my other classes are: Phenomenological-Existential Psychology, Projective Tests, Cognitive Development, Ethics and an elective course on Cognition Sciences I didn’t choose yet (all that in addition to the internship/research program). Phew.

coffee: always frantic, has a crammed schedule, never stops consuming caffeine, will agree to go to a party even if they have a six a.m. shift the next day

bujo: organized, likes to makes lists and keep track of things, plans outfit the night before, stresses when they get a grade less than a B

oops: stopped caring in the third grade, somehow manages to get okay grades, never studies, kind of lazy, would eat Waffle House at 3 in the morning

sweatshirt: is trying as hard as they possibly can, has to study and work hard for their grades, constantly stressing, has social anxiety, tries to do every extra curricular under the sun

aesthetique: probably vegetarian or vegan, has a “mom jean” 80′s aesthetic, glorifies local cafes, wants to live in Europe, always wants to cut their hair

gothique: black clothes only, still stans my chemical romance, uses sarcasm as a defense mechanism, desperately wants some tattoos, likes the black lipstick look but too shy to do it

Brain on Fire

Beth: [age 10] "School would be so much more interesting if they taught us magic."

Me: "If you look at it the right way, /math/ is magical. All that addition, multiplication, exponents, geometry...."

Beth: "The only magical thing math does for me is set my brain on fire. Seriously. My forehead gets hot when I do math. I once had to put cold water on my head just to get through my homework."

Me: "Maybe you're just doing dark math."

Beth: "All math is dark math."

Me: "It's not like you have Snape for a teacher."

Beth: "Snape taught potions, not math."

Me: "Oh yeah? In real-world potions, you need a lot of math."

Beth: "There are no real-world potions."

Me: "Of course there are. Like medicines. When Louis Pasteur discovered vaccines, people thought it was magical. Or when Alexander Fleming discovered antibiotics? Magic!"

Beth: "That's not the same as magic potions."

Me: "Like I said: if you look at it the right way, it is."

Beth: "I feel my forehead getting hot already."

5/100 days of productivity

Nice truthful shot of my messy desk lol.

Had a Classics seminar, then stopped at home to have cake for lunch (listen if your granny made a damn good fruit cake and gave you one to take to uni with you as a birthday cake you’d eat cake for lunch as well, okay?) while working on some notes about Aeneas and Dido. Had an Archaeology tutorial in the afternoon in which I thought I was hilarious but the rest of the class were stony faced which was embarrassing lmao. Just had a cup of tea and some toast while checking my emails, and now down to the study room for some Russian grammar homework on participles - yay!!

For the first time in like a week I’m not out in the evening which is a Huge relief as it’s bucketing it down in Glasgow rn and I just want to curl up and study.

27.7.18 || Current desk set-up and a beautiful building I discovered on my way to lunch. I almost finished preparing my first exam and I still have 9 days left ! I was pretty productive at the library but I’m glad to work at home now.

[7/26/18] technically both of these pictures are from yesterday but whatever. i went to the library and started working on organizing some notes from my last two semesters! i know it’s unnecessary but it’s giving me something to do and i feel like i’ve wasted most of my summer. i’m headed to boston tomorrow to visit my best friend from middle school and i’m so excited about that. it’ll be a 7 hour train ride but i’m bringing lots to do. when i get back expect to see more original content since i’m really going to start buckling down before i go back to school.

Today, I was able to read Montaigne’s, Hobbes’, Dickens’ and Franklin’s essays about the Noble Savages and finished answering the reading questions. As for my subject POS2041, I read the full platform (in pdf file) of some of the political parties in America and made a discussion re. them. This took me couple of hours because some of the files are sooo freaking long. There’s even one with 88 pages on it. :((( Buuuttt hey, would you believe me if I say that I find all that I’ve read so interesting??? I thought it would be so hard for me to finish off everything today yet here I am, still feeling energetic!!! (btw, I also made revisions for our group project today and reviewed med. terms) ~~~~~~~~~
