1. martin lived in the archives for months and never mentions any worry about showering/etc.

2. considering its business the institute could very well have some sort of decontamination shower.

3. the whole Worms thing on top of general hygiene mean martin would use that shower regularly.

4. one day martin accidentally leaves his loofah there. jon sees this and loses his gddamn mind.

5. "it is a PUBLICLY ACCESSIBLE SHOWER and your LOOFAH is not a factor in PROPER DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURE" "it was an ACCIDENT i am SORRY and if people leave the shower both contamination-free and smelling a bit like Blue Ceder And Cypress i think that would be JUST FINE"

#tma #jonmartin #oh absolutely #I’ve always headcannon’d the shower in the archives #but I actually think it’d be closer to artefact storage #which if that’s the case #makes this even more delicious #because Jon ABSOLUTELY runs into Martin with a shitty shower cap on and a towel wrapped around himself (or a really ratty bathrobe?) #coming down the stairs with a pair of cheap flip flops #he is immediately up in arms about decency during work hours #Martin has to explain to him it’s almost midnight #also the decontamination shower leaves a huuuuge fucking mess #it’s uncomfortable and open and Martin never really feels comfortable showering there #he leaves on his pants and just kind of suds everything up because there’s no privacy #and when Jon realizes this he spends an entire afternoon rigging up a complicated curtain system #Martin is shocked and thanks him #Jon immediately is like ‘every time you’d shower you’d create another safety hazard with all the water you left me no choice’

Honestly the fact that Alice and Sam have been in regular contact since they broke up (minus the time after her parents' deaths bit) that makes whatever Alice has going on even tastier. Like ah, of course, you were happy to have him in your life still but now he's actively dating other people and you can't pretend he's yours still, is that it, Alice?

Or maybe her parents' passing and the way sam cared for her then was Too Nice and she had to skedaddle before developing feelings again and WHOOPS they're back anyway. Maybe a healthy sprinkling of both. Idk it's tasty heehee

You know what I love? When characters are almost unconscious, but not quite.

Slumped over, a complete ragdoll in the others’ hands, but alert enough to groan softly at different sensations, eyes hooded and glazed, just wide enough to gather a blurry image of their surroundings. Though they’re dizzy and their limbs feel like lead, they gain comfort in the others’ touch, unconsciously leaning into them, eyelids fluttering in hazy relief at the soothing, concerned gestures.
