Hey guys, so this is my new poem I wrote a few days ago. Its about a guy Iike. Its called...REMEMBER? Hope y'all like it💕

Remember? When we all were riding on our scooters.

Met my ex on the way and I was about to burst out in tears.

You took a different route and parked the ride to let me cry on your shoulder.

And I bawled my eyes out on your back like a baby.

You covered my face with your body so people couldn't see.

You said, "Cry it all out, I'm never leaving you, you'll always have me."

Remember? My last day in town when I was packing my stuff to leave.

I opened the door when the bell rang and I couldn't believe.

There you were, with your arms spread out with a hug to give.

Never thought I would have someone who actually cared.

You happily met my mom that day when nobody even dared.

Those were one of the best moments we've ever shared.

Remember? When we talked on the phone the other night.

And stumbed upon the question of what would happen if we ever fight.

And you said with such assurance, "I won't lose you, I'll make it right."

All these stupid things you say make my heart flutter.

How come you say it with such each without a stutter.

When I try to do the same thing I always end up with a mutter.

Remember? All those times we went out to eat.

You'd never let me pay or even check the receipt.

And you'd say, "You pay for the next one, this is my treat."

And how you always ask me if I have water when I'm travelling.

Or how you silently listen to me when I'm mostly just rambling.

And how you played with my hair, saying it resembles a spring.

Remember? Yesterday for me, you missed your class presentation.

And I was waiting for you at the seawoods train station.

The moment you saw me you ran towards me like I was your salvation.

And while leaving you all, how I had my frown face on.

Cause it was moments before the train would arrive and I'd be gone.

But you hugged me with a smile like everything's fine, nothing's wrong.

I was daydreaming the whole train ride home.

Replaying what your touch felt like, skin to bone.

The way you wrapped you arms around me, And said "Then stay, don't go."

When I texted you, "I miss you too much that I'm bout to cry."

And you gave me a call saying, "Hey, this ain't our last goodbye."

And I must be real stupid to have ignored you, the whole junior high.

Please say that you'll always remember.

That you will stay by my side forever.

Cause godforbid if I ever lose you, this is all I have with me to treasure.

The Little Old Lady

The old lady said, " My god, you're gonna turn out just like your mom.

I worry for you, you're gonna do the same things she did wrong.

Get married twice and leave them just to prove you're strong.

Play the victim and blame the fate for having nowhere to belong."

Just when I was about to burst, I saw an old man walk in.

Washed his hands and left his dirty dishes by the sink.

Habitually presumed that the little old lady will do the cleaning.

Righfully so she cleaned up his mess and that's when I got the feeling.

That she's a little old lady in a little black dress.

Who goes home every night to her 50 year mess.

Because her younger self lacked the courage to confess.

So now she's stuck being the devil's empress.

Flash back to the days when she was a young lady with big dreams.

Until her parents set her up for marriage, so it seems.

Got married to a stranger for life cause those were the regimes.

Left her dreams behind to wash his clothes, raise his children and cook him some beans.

Years later she still lives in the house where love is forbidden.

She believes its her job to cater to him even when he'll be bed ridden.

Managed her life in whatever he provided, never did she ask for something exorbitant.

She's still washing his clothes, cooking him food & has raised 4 beautiful women.

Even though she's just a little old lady in a little black dress.

Who has skillfully and loyaly managed her 50 year mess.

I hope for the day when she'll gather the courage to confess.

Live for herself, build an empire where she'll be the empress.

Seeing all this my mother decided that she'll never have a life like the little old lady.

And so she lived by her own rules even though there were many obstacles in the journey.

She got married twice but had to leave them both times beacuse they were after her hard earned money.

Being the father and mother, she raised me on her own away from the society's misogyny.

Experiencing this from such close proximity this is what I've learnt.

That being a lady you'll be damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Other women might drag you down but its mostly because they are misinformed.

Its always a struggle to build a mansion in the rubble but thats how your place is earned.

So don't be a little lady wearing the little black dress.

Who has to manage someone else's mess.

And if you do, gather up the courage and confess.

You deserve to be treated like the Queen cause you are The Empress.

...Since The Man is coming out soon I felt the need to share this with y'all. This one is personal and based on my family.

So this one's about a little old lady (character's granma) criticizing her (the character) that she would turn out like her mother (little lady's daughter).

Character's mother took a very unconventional route towards life, which did not sit well with the character's granma for obvious reasons. But the character realises that what her mother did for her is very difficult and praise worthy whereas her granma is to be taken as an example of how you may not wanna end up like, living just to cater to your husband.

Looking up at the sky, its turned blurry just like my thoughts.

All this rain and still without your touch my skin feels like a drought.

Sorry I didn't show up on time, I didn't play fair.

But if only you would've waited for a minute or two.

You would've seen me run back to you.

Our last goodbye keeps playing back in my mind.

Didn't expect you to leave, we used to do this all the time.

I go back to our happy memories quite often.

Do you remember them or are they long forgotten?

Going through my stuff, I stumbled upon our polaroid.

Your sudden take off has now left me with a void.

Wonder when I got so attatched, your face keeps popping up all around.

Its troubling me, I'm not able to stand my ground.

Do you miss me like I miss you?

Were our feelings ever true?

My place was right next to you but you weren't the one.

I said,"comeback". You said,"What's done is done".

We were like a mirror maze with no escape.

So many faces, we couldn't equate.

Would you ever comeback if you get the chance to?

Should I wait or should I move on just like you?
