(spn spoilers) this isn’t gonna be a verse or anything b/c this is jack’s plot and jack’s alone but.... thinking about the latest episode and how absolutely fuckin perfect god!magda would be as the completion of her arc, like... to become the very thing that she was tortured in the name of.... but also thinking about how she would not have the strength to step back and leave the world alone like jack. the pull to dismantle christianity and protect hurt children like herself would be too strong for her to resist; she would always feel compelled to tinker and interfere because of what she’s experienced. whew it is Fascinating to think about

murphy being so scared of what awaits him after death that he chooses a corrupt, twisted version of immortality to escape it in season 6 vs. murphy choosing to sacrifice a guaranteed peaceful immortality to live a normal life and die a normal death with the people he loves in season 7..... i just think that’s neat !

MURPHY’S LAUGH IS REFLEXIVE.  Did you miss it here?  Perhaps the only place he misses less than Earth is his childhood home   —   when the Ark was whole and corrupt, and the hatred in his mother’s eyes would haunt his dreams.  It’s funny how such little time can change things.  Six years on the Ring and he couldn’t wait to get back down here, even felt a forbidden gleeful exhilaration when danger followed.  But just his brief stay in Sanctum, finding a taste of luxury and people worth fighting for, makes him see Earth for what it was.

“ Only good thing that ever happened to me here was meeting Emori, ”   he drawls.  It’s blunt, but true.  Earth greeted him with exile and torture, and managed to get even worse from there.  He leans back, spares Jordan a glance before he looks up at the trees.  It must be interesting for the kid, visiting a place his parents could only ever tell him about, a place they all thought was dead and gone.  “ This part is a hell of a lot greener than it used to be, ”   John offers, feeling much like an uncle sharing stories at a dinner table.   “ It was a Grounder city.  Polis, they called it.  That structure over there was where the Commander lived.  And right here... we’re probably sitting on the ashes of a market stall, if I had to guess. ”

@ratherbewild​    ╱    it’s so much easier for jordan to focus on the good as opposed to the bad.  excitement and happiness are emotions that he’s been feeling all his life,  ones that are in his comfort zone.  the sadness,  the mourning,  the confusion has always been much more difficult for him to come by,  even if he’s felt so much of that recently.  so despite the sadness and the pain he feels over losing someone who has always been so integral to the lessons he learned growing up,  jordan chooses to focus on something more comfortable  —-  the excitement of being here,  a place he’s heard so much about but had given up on believing he would ever be himself  —  earth.

❝  did you miss it here?  ❞   it’s an honest,  innocent question.  he’s heard the stories from his parents’ point of view,  but never from anyone else’s.  even his parents had their own mixed reviews about the planet,  though it was still home.   he wonders what the others felt before  —-  and how they feel now that they’re suddenly here again,  with no way to truly live and no way out.  ❝  is it the same as you remember? ❞
